The worst thing is, he is a good enough footballer that he doesnt need to act like he is after an Academy Award. This makes him look even more foolish and sets a shocking example for the youngsters who look up to him

a bit harse, give the free kick against him at worse but rub him out? you must really hate the guy/bombers

their have being far worse role models, carey, all the drink drivers and drug takers etc

In soccer you can get a yellow or red card for acting, in the AFL you should have free kicks awarded against you for acting. It would quickly stop some of them when they give away three or four free kicks in a match.

I think that suspension is a bit harsh, even for Pretty Boy.

A rule change awarding a free against the actor would put a stop to it all pretty damn quickly.

meh u CAN get yellow carded for diving in soccer... but how often do they give it... plus we have enough problems trying to decide what the rules are with the current interps rather than trying to judge frees for diving...

Where a player who has been pushed in the back, dragged around the neck etc exaggerates it the tendency these days is for the umpire to completely ignore it, which is good. However Lloyd, and to a lesser extent Alistair Lynch, tend to get these decisions. It is a blight on our game and should be stamped out. I like the idea of a free kick against the player who overacts.

rubbish to single out these players. you may notice these players more because you dislike them but if you look more objectively you'll see its much more widespread than just these 2. and that they're not the worst

Actually it stands out as when they get the kicks they result in goals. I have used these two as examples for this reason only.

Nah, you just never give him free kicks unless he gets decapitated. i.e:

Lloyd falls over.
Umpire: 'Get up Lloydy, you took a f**king dive'.

Unfortunately the umpires are either too thick or want an invite to a BBQ at his place, so they keep rewarding his staging. While he's getting rewarded for it, why wouldn't you keep doing it?

The media tends to highlight Lloyds more than other players in the game.

While I agree there is a problem and he takes too many dives, he is not the worst of them by any means.

Brent Harvey is easily worse than Lloyd.

If the umpires had any sort of idea they would simply put the whistle away until he starts playing footy. Of course we all know that Hirdy would get upset if that happended and we don't want that.

Essendon are the biggest sooks in the AFL, from the coach to the players they never stop whineing.
