Is that not what we did with Yeo and McGovern in the offseason, right before they’ve found AA form again?

Or is that an example of nothing changing at our club (apart from the CEO, list manager, high performance manager…)

Can’t believe Pyke didn’t rip Hewett’s feet off and reattach them in his first fortnight in the job. Just not prepared to make the big yet obvious calls.

The ignore function exists for a reason, people.

I’ve gone over this many times before.

Sending 3 people only was complete stupidity. We should have sent a minimum 10. Oscar Allen should have been second person on that plane. You know that too

I mean you are contradicting yourself here. You can’t claim both sending players to specialists and overseas makes a big difference and also that we shouldn’t be doing it for guys like Hewett and instead should just remove bones from their body cos ballet isn’t working out for them.

Mate

Take a chill and have a rest.

Todd says no PP application, I suspect the AFL has simply told them that they won’t be getting one.

They probably also told them that Zuurhar is band 1 compo regardless of contract.

Makes sense. Everyone knows that North don’t need anymore talented 18 year old kids.

Draft picks won’t help them.

What they do need is soft cap allowance to boost their development coaches, and access to mature talent. The first part is easy, the second part is much harder given north isn’t an attractive destination even when they’re travelling well.

Will be a slog for them for the foreseeable future.

Does Allen have a history of soft-tissue injuries?

If not, why would he go see a bloke in the Middle-East who specialises in soft-tissue injuries?

You know Harry Edwards missed the previous year with a fractured wrist and not any leg related injury right?

Players arnt sent just for soft tissue injuries and nor is that the point of going overseas. They went to create a workout regime that best fit their body profile. So for Oscar Allen he would go and theyd come up with a profile to alleviate stress on his knees.

Yeo has spoken about it on the radio. The point of the trip was to create the correct training regime for his body type. Oscar 100% needs the same thing

Not good enough.

All 100,000 supporters should have been flown over as well 😀
It does happen though. Collingwood have sent the entire squad overseas countless times. We sent 3 people once and you want to say its a grandeous change worthy of applause?

Hell, Collingwood sent 3 AFLW players to US for alititude training. We arnt even competing with Collingwoods AFLW team on a resourcing level ffs

Barring monumental upsets in both of the next two weeks we will have pick 3 in the MSD. Upside is likely to be the biggest consideration but with our expected delistings positional need is hopefully also considered. I still think in order we should take if available:
  1. Ben Hopkins 18 190cm Dandenong HBF
  2. Noah Howes 18 196cm Sth Adelaide KPF
  3. Will McLachlan 19 185cm Geelong HFF
I expect Noah Howes to be taken by one of North or Richmond ahead of us but he could be available. Other players possibly in the conversation are:
  1. Wil Patton 19 192cm West Adelaide HBF
  2. Jacob Blight 22 196cm Peel KPD
  3. Jasper Scaife 19 197cm West Perth KPF
  4. Joe Pike 19 204cm Geelong Ruck
  5. Jack Hutchinson 22 190cm C’Wood HFF
There’s also a number of mids and mid/fwds that went undrafted last year that are a chance to be selected by other teams (and us if we’re set on taking a mid):

Tarkyn O’Leary 18 178cm Sandringham
Kade De La Rue 18 183cm Dandenong
Dayten Uerata 18 185cm Bendigo
Oskar Smartt 18 180cm Bendigo

In saying all this my opinion counts for SFA and we’ll probably take Trey Ruscoe.
Great summary.

We need defenders and mids with youth, speed, run and carry.

Enter Ruscoe FMDead!

It didn't make a difference to Yeo. He broke down after 7 games. Predictable. Simmo will rush him back and that will cause another 8week lay off.

So Elliot Yeo, the man himself has outlined its made a big difference, but you think it hasnt?

We are so hellbent on defending the club, we are just going to call Elliot Yeo a liar now? Far out guys, get a grip

Well, apart from why Edwards missed the season, you're wrong on all other fronts about why he went to Qatar.

Last time I checked, the wrist isn't located in your lower leg.

Nor is it a part of your ACL, groin, tendon or muscles.

Would've been great for Shuey and NN to go, but it was clearly too late for them.

Petch is another but he's been fine this season, apart from his ankle on the weekend, which this wouldn't have prevented.

BC he broke down with another groin injury. I'm not defending the club, all I'm saying is that the guru specialists players are accessing overseas don't do anything different to a lot of their peers in this country. But the take home you should get round your head is the soft cap can't reward the level of expertise that is available in the Aussie market for physio/rehab and as such a lot have left the industry BC they can earn much more coin in the real world.

Harry did go there for soft tissue issues and not for his wrist. Depending on your definition of “leg” which medically speaking is between the knee and the ankle you’re off the mark there too.

I like that some of your posts are at odds with accepted consensus as hearing counter views is important but don’t make shit up.

This actually isn’t true.

Whatever changes Yeo has made has allowed him to do a complete pre-season, first time in 5 years by his own admission- which has allowed him to rebuild his base fitness and resilience.

He has suffered what has been described as a very minor groin strain.

However, he has a full pre season of work behind him that will hold him in good stead, when and if he does suffer the odd strain.

That’s very different to 2021-23.

I never said that. Im saying that players with other injury issues can go and get themselves looked at... What is the dislike of getting the best treatment possible for Oscar Allen? What is the harm here?

Yes when he went there im sure they promised he would never get injured ever again, even for 1 week....

The judge of if Elliot Yeo benefited from going overseas isnt you mate, Its Elliot Yeo.

Too late for them just shows how inept we are. Shuey could have went years beforehand. This form of training didnt invent itself in 2024....

Do you go to a gynecologist to get your dick looked at?(might be a dumb question in 2024...)

Well hardly the same but just as a example, I broke my back and when I did break my back, i worked on my leg strength in my rehab alot and yes that included my hamstrings. You never just focus on the problem area and only that problem area. Rehab doesnt work that way
