Could Harry Edwards fetch a midfielder from someone who is at least decent? Harry Edwards isn't terrible, but the midfield clearly needs to be improved and is more important than having a 3rd KPD or backup KPD.

English's price has plummeted this year.
Six weeks ago there was talk of him getting $900 000 a year.
If he gets offered anywhere near that, the Dogs should let him go.

Don't get me started on the Lobster.
He actually had the balls to say he wanted out 2 weeks ago.
He thinks work ethic is a trotter at Gloucester Park.
Lazy as ****.

The Dogs should get rid of him for a salary dump.

It doesn't matter if his price has 'plummeted' all that matters is the price it'll pay the pry him out of Bulldogs, ala Crows apparently offering Yeo the borderline farm contract wise at his age and injury history.

And he's still contracted for another year and a half, plenty of time to change perceptions.

Had plenty of success at trading players in over the course and they all stay long term and rave about the club, as opposed to freo who not only loses players they drafted every season but they also lose players that chose to be traded to them who then change their mind once they get there, countless examples.

Seems like you're taking a pessimistic approach when looking at our chances of trading him in and optimistic when looking at freo's odds. Would be pretty clear to anyone with a brain which club you're better off coming to long term financially, for success, and just which club is a better environment to be in.

We will have more cash to offer than freo and by the end of next year our midfield will be one of the most stacked with young talent in the competition.

Anyone with a brain apparently would prefer WC over Freo?

Listening to 6pr this morning and they were talking about the Warner brothers. Hardy was saying Chad definitely wants to come home but his younger brother will be part of the package
Would our 1st and f1 get the brothers with Sydney’s first coming back? Or is that wishful thinking or too much ?

Surely Sydney should be paying someone to take Chad's brother off them, so if the deal is both of them then a 2nd round pick from WC to Sydney should get the deal done

I will pay out Sheed's contract myself if I have to.

Nah and not sure why saying we are miles off being a competitor is such a trigger for you.

But cudo’s to you, as you keep defending saying we are the WA destination club.
You didn't say that and who's triggered?

Just over a month ago we'd smashed freo and melbourne and looked on the up and freo didn't look too flash, a month later and and a rebuilding side with some key injuries and a couple of close losses and suddenly we're 10 years off finals again if we listen you you doomsdayers, a month is a long time in footy. Warner isn't out of contract for a year and a half and I'd back us in to be in a much better position by the end of 2025 than we are now, and freo will still be flagless.

Let’s think, bring in Warner x 2, perryman and busslinger we wing the flag
We have to trade very very well over the next few year otherwise we won't get close to north for years. Once we lose kelly, yeo, gov and cripps things are going to go back to being extremely ugly
Hopefully hewitt can stay on the park and ginbey continues to develop but there's so many meh players on the list

I doubt its this year . Sydney will keep chad to his contract . They did it with O'Keeffe and papely .
Warner is probably only on 500k-600k next year . Its a win for Sydney to keep him to his contract.

It’s probably better for us if Warner waits a year. Freo have a lot of picks this year, and still have salary cap space. Won’t have to pay such a high price if he’s out of contract too.

I thought Sheed was absolutley brilliant tonight. No idea where the hate is coming from.

Pure heart, skill and played with a real gusto.

I think I hate him.

I would prefer to offer our first pick to Sydney for Warner. He is young and is someone that will help Reid, Ginbey and Hewitt.
Go back to the first round draft in 2025.
Would prefer our young guys learning off Warner and Yeo then with Sheed playing and we end up with a team of pointers.

After adding Jack Hutchinson with pick 3 in the mid season draft, we head into the mid season bye in 16th place with presumptive picks 3, 23 and 59 having traded our 3R pick to help secure Clay Hall last year. Two year contract extensions have been signed by Liam Ryan, Bailey Williams, Harry Barnett and Ryan Maric.

Players we remain linked to in trade period include Jedd Busslinger and Liam Baker, whose clubs are likely to demand our 2R pick at a minimum should they remain unsigned. Free agents Harry Perryman and Isaac Cumming may also be of interest to the club, but there hasn’t been much noise around them being linked to us. Early interest in Tim English seems to have cooled, who is reportedly working through a deal to remain a Bulldog.

We have a full list of 44 players, with Noah Long to also return from the long term injury list which means list spots are likely to be tight at the end of the year.

Debate continues as to whether the club will be better served by selecting the best midfielder available with our first pick or whether we should explore splitting it to obtain multiple first round selections. With the U18 championships already underway, our intended draft strategy, player retention and targets are no doubt being discussed in earnest by new list boss Matthew Clarke and the team.

Most draft discussion has centred around positional needs of an elite mid, KPD, HBF and winger. With two weeks before our next game and our first look at both Vic Country and Vic Metro today in back to back U18 championship games, what does the ideal realistic draft and trade outcome look like to posters?

That's not enough mate.
They'd want 2/3 + F1 minimum I would think.

Agreed they should keep him and on $600k.

We should make an offer and a big one dollars wise. Then as he is playing next year on $600k he will be thinking of the extra $1 million he would be getting if he had moved.

Come the end of 2025 Swans wont be able to match and he knows he has already missed out on $1 million.

Play the long game if needed. Suits our rebuild time table as well.
