Because we have pick 3. And I will be kind of salty with the choice of Smillie/Jagga/Trainor.

I mean they are all solid picks but have risks. FOS and Draper are I'd say risk free picks and ready made
We won't end up with pick 3, Richmond will leapfrog us when they get players back.

Would we be keen to package Harry Barnett or BW with our top pick (2) for Adelaide’s pick (5-6) and Curtin?
They may laugh at us but can only ask..curtin’s value has dropped somewhat to pick 10-15

We have Archer Reid in the wings who is promising as well as JWill and already have two starting rucks.

Adelaide need a ruckman.

Curtin addresses the need for another third tall / kpd

He’s a good player, I like him, but seeing some people say he could go top 2-3 is a bit crazy to me.
I find it crazy anyone puts Jagga or Smillie above draper.

Draper is the complete package. A clearance king with speed and power and solid kicking.

As for his endurance/ball winning ability it's worse then Jagga but draper has better will to win the ground ball and contest

Yea i understand I do like his centre clearance ability for a smaller player
His has strong hips and is a powerful kick for a smaller mid
Work on his kicking consistency and he can really push up
Jagga i love but his smaller body and scrubbing kicks is annoying me

I will do another post on the mids i like this draft

When the draper highlight package release for this game you will see draper being a cut above in this game.

Smillie is definitely above Draper. I have Jagga above him too but can understand the argument for Draper over him.
On what attributes? Certainly not speed, explosive or clearance work.

As for endurance/accumilating need to see more games first. Smillie champs game didn't show him in a good light.

Ball use Draper is no slouch.

Not sure why you people seem to think adelaide will trade him a year into a 3 year contract after they traded up to get him

What on earth???

In case you haven’t realised we need a ruckman as well.

Pick 3+ Barnett >>>>> Adelaide’s pick + Curtin

Would never do that trade

Mid for this year draft

Zac Johnson
Sam Lalor
These two I think will end up better then there draft position both later second round picks for now

Bo Allen WA big inside mid currently having back troubles (Looks better as mid than defender)

Hamish Davis mentioned him a few times could go as a rookie I really like him (think he is incredibly similar to
Nic Martin)

Top end of draft

Finn O'Sullivan lovely kick good endurance a bit slow but good agility needs to get more of the pill
Leo Lombard if he was going to another club than GC think he could be best player in the draft, but
will be hard to play mid behind so many good mids
(think Daniel Kerr he is magic and brings other into the game)
Sid Draper small powerful mid kicking very good pace
Christian Moraes outside more than inside but could change that at AFL level is classy

I’m just not seeing what some of you guys are with Sid Draper lol.
Inside mid with speed out of the contest , tackles well , handballs with elite vision to forward running team mates , moves well in traffic, great overhead mark , can accumulate on the outside , accurate kick even under pressure , big tank and impressive leadership skills ?

Was SA best player last year as a bottom ager

I thought bo Allen was a backman that has pushed up onto the wing this year ?

Jagga was the high possession winner in the game and one of Metro's best performed on the day. He did his best work early when the weather was a mess. Other players were slipping and sliding around, fumbling the footy, but Jagga was clean as a whistle and helped Metro dominate through the midfield.

We are in a great position to snag a quality midfielder with pick 2/3 with so many options available. I’d be happy with any of Smillie/FOS/Smith/Draper et al.

It was a bit awkward last year wanting the generational talent in Reid, but still wanting us to win games.

This year there is no standout number one, and we will get a quality talent no matter how many more games we win.

Reid, Ginbey, Hewett plus 2024 first rounder is an excellent midfield core to build around.
