Jordan Sweet, young reserve ruck was traded for pick 50 last year. And he had arguably shown more than Williams.

The word “arguably” is doing a lot of work there.

Half of us will offer to drive him to the airport for you. Do not rate.

You’ve got posters here trying to off load a player they don’t want/rate/value for a second rounder.

What’s hard to understand that someone else saying that’s just not a realistic valuation of a player.

Haha, Bailey Williams would have far greater value than Sweet. C’mon now

Yep, Jordan Sweet, of similar age to Bailey Williams, had ‘arguably’ shown more in his 11 games for the Bulldogs is a very convenient point to back up an argument.

Now, arguably, West Coast having Harley Reid alone puts our list build ahead of all the other teams. I like the way this works. Now back to …

Agree that the gun mid we’re looking for in the top 5 isn’t there atm. Preference at this stage is see if we can trade back and get Travaglia and Moraes/Langford/M Reid/JoJo Siwa
Jojo Siwa already our best player :D

Hewett can't get on the park, has very high talent levels but hasn't shown composure at AFL level for one and two that real burning desire to get the best out of himself hasn't been there. He a bit like Liam Ryan isn't the best off field but he's young so we need to give him time. If between himself and the club can get the best out of him he is nigh on as talented as Reid.
If Hewett shows elite level work ethic such as working hard to improve his game during off days when there's no team training and puts in extra time in pre season to get up to Reid's level then I think we have a potential Brownlow contender. Hopefully Hewett genuinely thinks he's as good as Reid and works very hard to get there.

From the outside it sounds like Hewett does put work in, thats the impression I get anyway. Hopefully being mates with Ginbey will ensure his work ethic is right up there with the best

With Finn O'Sullivan and Sam Lalor missing for Country Langford was asked to shoulder a significant burden in the midfield and he accomplished that role with aplomb. His size and strength in the contest is a weapon, and he finds opportunities to punish his opponent on the spread with his powerful left boot.

Everyone could see it except him. Loyal man can be costly.

4th round pick swap this year should get it done and less salary then we offered.

Good business
Honestly, I’d let him walk for a token 5th round pick. Throw in Jaxon Prior and Kalin Lane for free.

While I think we're probably (bleh) split whatever our pick ends up being, I love the look of Jagga Smith's jib. An accumulator, which we need in the middle in the worst way, an excerpt from the latest draftee article from Fox Sports

“Tommy Hafey would love him. He’s a rubber man who bounces up, bends this way and that way,” Sheehan said.

“You watch him in traffic, he’s so agile the way he’s able to manipulate his body to execute with a handpass or get out of a sticky situation. He’s got great vision and awareness and game sense and footy nous.

Would love him next to Reid.

Here's the page for people wanting to have a squiz

There are not many instances where a situation is completely misread as much as dev has on his situation at Brisbane.

Even coach was surprised he signed….

I don't blame him to be honest. Either re-signing with a premiership contender with an outside chance of getting a gig come finals time or going back home to the wooden spooner? Seemed an easy choice.

I dunno, obviously the flag is every player's ultimate goal, but playing regularly is almost as important. It's still a career where maximising your value is important. What's more, he has 10 years left of his career, the way out for West Coast might have looked insurmountable but there's no way we would have stayed down for that long. Meanwhile, Brisbane had been up and about for about five years, there was a real risk things were gonna turn. He will likely miss the flag and may have tanked his value. If he's running around in the WAFL in three years, he will be absolutely kicking himself.

The kid has confidence but I think that's the knock on him. He lacks professionalism and consistency.

I hope, though, that he has a burning drive seeing Ginbey/Reid on the track taking the plaudits and is insanely strong-willed to ensure he gets time to shine.

Dev could have had it all. I hope he regrets his decision for the rest of his life.

He could have been part of WA footy folklore
lol what folklore?

Being a fringe player in a shithouse side?

His output would have been similar to Chesser’s imo. And we all know how popular he is on this board.

Teams just don’t value reserve or developing rucks. This has been proven time and again every trade period.

Not always true.

Shane Mumford went for pick 28.

Braydon Preuss went to GWS for pick 31.

Ivan Soldo netted Richmond a future second, pick 41, a future 4th and a one spot upgrade from 50 to 49.

The only thing Dev did which was dumb was to turn down a 4 year contract for a 2 year one.

Utter lunacy. Can't believe his manager let it happen.
