If Freo interested to unlock Bolton, the following might work

Eagles
Out 3 23 Ryan
In 9 12 14 Knobel Baker Graham (as FA trigger band 3 ie pick 22 generated)

Freo
Out 9 12 14 Knobel
In Bolton Ryan 41 54

Tigers
Out Bolton Baker Graham 41 54
In 3 22 23

Eagles and Hawks
10 and F3 for Barrass

We go to the draft with 9 10 12 14 late pick for Champion having nabbed F3 with Hawks plus adding Knobel Baker Graham (and possibly English)

Depends on English - Williams is a possible trade option.
Crows might want to use R4 for Rotham to preserve their FA compo if lose Walker and Himmelburg.
I would be open to offers for Petch
I just can't see why we would not want access to one of Draper Jagar FOS in the top 3.

I am still in the camp that we hold our top selection no matter what.

Knobel and Graham would not be best 22 in a decent team .

It is an opinion but a good one i believe
26 yrs old, played in two premierships and it would have been 3 if it wasn’t for a shoulder injury in 2019, but yeah he wouldn’t get a game in a decent side…..

He’s no star and is regarded as more of a role player but some of these comments on Graham are over the top.

I dont think a 0 gamer is the way we improve it.

Really?

So does that mean we shouldn't draft anyone because they are all 0 gamers?

It's steak knives on a project ruck killing it in the WAFL in a squad that includes Jackson and Darcy.

Not a reason to bag out a bigger trade deal that lands 4 1st round picks. Plus a highly rated project ruck at at team overloaded with ruck options

Mate I am so glad we dodged this bullet. Literally this time last year we had everyone in the media telling us to trade the pick or use pick 1 to draft and I quote 'The next Matthew Pavlich'

'Harley ain't coming, he doesn't wanna come, don't bother drafting him, please North lose enough to finish last'...ahh stick it up your ass 🖕
cant be the next Pavlich, cos Tabener was the next Pav.

He will have to be the next, next Pav! :p

The second sentence is crap. He has played 2 WAFL games all year. Im not moving away from Pick 3 to pick 9 for a WAFL reserves ruck

He isnt even playing in the WAFL. He is playing in WAFL reserves mostly
He’s behind Darcy, Jackson and Reidy, all of whom would walk into our best 22. Knobel has played 2 league games this year for 50 and 31 hitouts, handy disposals and has dominated the reserves. He’d be a great fit with 2 more preseasons ready to lead when Flynn comes off contract in another two years. He’d be what we drafted Barnett for.

I'm not sure bringing in Knobel is best practice. He wouldn't walk in and be number 1 ruck, he still has more developing to do.

We do not have a reserves system with our current system, so if we missed on English and bought in Knoble, we would have;
BWilliams and JWilliams sharing ruck duties in the seniors.
Flynn number 1 ruck in the twos, with Barnett, Livingston and Knoble all trying to learn their craft underneath.

Plus having 6 rucks on our list, is far too many.

My hope is that we bring in English, Trade BWilliams to Melbourne for 38.

English and JWilliams share ruck duties, Flynn back up rucK, Barnett and Livingston develop forward craft and back up ruck for Beagles.

Id just take Reidy for free in that scenario as opposed to ruin our draft hand

Reidy would be fine too but Knobel is not the centrepiece of that deal AsterixTheGaul proposed and his inclusion certainly wouldn’t ruin our draft hand. It’s very clearly a positional need going forward. Imagine if Harley and the boys come on and we’re still seeing Bailey Williams competing for their first access to the ball in 3 years.

More top end top 3 talent less mid-teens Liam Duggan or Jarrad Brander picks please.

I want a fix for Bailey Williams this year, not another 2 years time when Knobel will be ready. Knobel/Barnett cant co exist. One would have to go. Otherwise you just have a 200+cm guy sitting in forward pocket

Finding a way to swap Barnett for Knobel is something we should do. Not chucking him into trades that involve us losing pick 3

What’s your fix if English re-signs with the dogs as expected? Why can’t Barnett be trialled as a KPD if we got a Knobel? Knobel’s inclusion would have no impact on pick 3 whatsoever. You could remove him from that trade and it wouldn’t look much different.

4 live picks between 10 and 16 is a big haul.

Likely one of Lalor or Travaglia will still be there. If not there are several similar types.

Langford
Lindsay
Berry
M Reid
O'Farrell
Whitlock for a tall defender
Moraes for a wing
Doubt either of Travaglia or lalor last to 10 .

Melbourne would 100% pick Lalor to restock their midfield

Knobel is good enough to play Wafl league and the two games he has played have been good.
The Dockers/Peel alignment means that only about eleven dockers get a game and a core of eleven Peel players get regular game unlike the past eagles alignment.
It means the least likely players who won't be in contention for Afl duties play reserves for Peel.
Playing two ruckman even at Wafl league level is not really done.
He is way ahead of Barnett and if you could get him for cheap would be well worth the effort.
As for Reidy he has signed for another year so Knobel needs to move to another club if he wants to progress to being a Afl player.

Knobel is a mid term project ruck doing very well in the WAFL. So saying he wouldn't be best 22 in the future has no basis. It's guessing.

Graham is free.

So you don't like the steak knives in the deal?

Is that it?
I don't like giving up pick 3 . Need one of FOS or Draiper .

Their is definitely a top tier in this draft until pick 5-6 then pretty even after that until 12-15

Knobel is basically unproven at afl level . He is 206cm so much bigger than your average wafl ruck .

If we wanted him sure but not giving up pick 3 as part of a mega trade we need that top tier ball winning mid especially if ginbey plays back

100% if we get a first for TB and maybe another for Flyin. Ain’t no way we split unless it’s for 2 within the top 10 and we rate one of those above who is expected to get to us at 2/3.

Remembering that every club has 17 and soon to be 18 competitors, in what world would a club not call out Levi Ashcroft as the number 1 pick?

2019 - nobody close to no 1 but at 9, SOS does the right thing to keep the Purples honest (and probably pissed off the Purples had just taken Young then Serong before his pick). Not knowing what he now wanted, SOS went again on Tom Green until he could get the right premium from the Suns ✅

2020 - Crows did it with the Dogs ✅

2021 - Norf got ahead of themselves and stroked Horny Frank’s ego meaning the Pies were able to effectively keep the pick that got them a Norm Smith medallist. And Norf look the fools for thinking HornyFrank was close to Daicos in value. Oh and HornyFrank has since proven he was not able to cope with the No 1 mantle meaning he felt entitled and asked to go home ❌

2022 - GWS are a foundation member of the Northern Academies Mafia so were looking after the Lions plus wanting to save face for overpaying to get pick 1 for a player who was not even top 4 and yet not even asking about Will Ashcroft. At least Norf learnt a lesson and asked at 2. ❌

2023 - nobody close to HR as number 1 and fair to say Harley can handle the tag. Norf should have called Walter at 2 but I suggest they had a side agreement with the Suns from their pick swapping

Richmond have been good at bidding on Brisbane’s prospects and I hope they do it again with Will. He would be very worthy taking at 1 and there is no other stand out like there was last year

Why would every other club not want the club tipped to be in consecutive GF appearances paying the maximum for pointy end talent. Oh and a haul of Ashcroft and Marshall will be an excellent outcome this year. Surely we want them in a massive deficit next year to push back their picks big time

Wouldn’t be surprised if we chased both Knobel and Brodie. Brodie is being wasted at WAFL level and would be best 22 for us easily. Only 25 yrs of age and dominant at WAFL and very good in 2022 for Freo at AFL level. Cleary on the wrong side of Longmuir so needs a fresh start.

A big upgrade on Trew, Sheed, Gaff and Culley who have all played in that centre square at times over the last few years.

Added to that is Ginbey going down back and looking really comfortable. Let him settle there for the time being.

Would cost a lot less than a Baker for example and probably make a similar impact for us, all be it a different type of player.

Cooper Hynes continues to strengthen as a top 20 draft candidate. He started the season extremely raw as a midfielder, but his stoppage craft has come a long way since then and he's now capable of some really clean and damaging extractions either by hand or with a bust of speed through traffic. In recent weeks there have been many moments where he's shown how team oriented and unselfish he is, as demonstrated in this game where when presented with a chance to pad his stat sheet with fourth goal he instead handed the ball off to a teammate in the goal square.
