One of the depressing aspects of this season for me is seeing our recent first rounders floundering with the exception of Reid. Who knows if Hewitt will play regular AFL footy given his foot issues? Chesser is a straight up spud. Not great at anything and has glaring holes in his game where he gets an F with his defensive pressure/effective tackling and his ability to compete in the air and take an overhead mark. And we are now playing Ginbey as a tagger which is an admission of a blown pick. You don't use top 10 picks to draft taggers. And he is not even doing a decent job of that as Matthew Lloyd pointed out on AAA. He was tagging Merrett on the weekend and kept ignoring/violating the first rule of tagging - maintain body contact with your opponent at all times and keep them in front of you, don't give them 5 metres and let them get out of the back of you. We really needed to nail these picks and we clearly haven't. We need to get some future A graders under 23 on our list to take us forward and your first rounders are really the only chance to do that. That sets the rebuild back quite a bit IMO.

Rubbish.

Chad Warner did **** all in his first 2 seasons.

2020 First yr played 2 games
2021 second yr payed 13 see attached. The same stats as Ginbey at the same stage.
2022 third yr played 24 and started to show what he had.

Wasn't until his fourth year, last yr and this yr he has lit it up.

The Reid's and daicos of the world are unicorns.

The rest take time.

Next year when Reid, Kelly, ginbey and Hewitt are in the midfield together you'll eat your words.

We don't what will happen with Hewitt. Sesamoiditis is incurable and chronic. He will be living with it for the rest of his career. It is not a hamstring strain that heals itself in 4 weeks. You are wayyyyy jumping the gun assuming he is going to come back and become the player he looked like he would become.

What "stats" are you talking about that were the same with Warner? Disposals? What does that prove? Tom Swift was getting more kicks per game at the end of his second year than Warner. Does that mean Swift is a better player than Warner? Warner has the two most important attributes for a midfielder in the modern game - pace and elite disposal. And he has no glaring weaknesses. Neither Ginbey nor Chesser have pace nor elite disposal. And both have glaring weaknesses. Ginbey's disposal is poor and he verging on being slow. Chesser is very, very weak in the air and at the contest in general. He is always looking for a cheap handball.

If the draft that Chesser and Ginbey taken in were held again they would be taken at a significantly lower number than where we took them. If they were at another club and looking to come back to WA you would be saying "offer them a late second rounder for them".

Do you ever say anything positive?
Just curious, I don't think in the entire time i've been around I have ever seen you say something that wasn't criticism of some player or poster.

Chesser and Ginbey were not taken in the same draft.

Chesser is from Victoria, why would he looking to come back to WA?

This is factually incorrect. If you remove the sesamoid bone (as Elijah has had) that was inflamed from the body it is not physically possible for it to continue to be inflamed.

We do however need to be patient with his return to footy. Good to have the games carrot there for him this season, but any AFL games this year would be a huge bonus.

For those stressing over Hewett please remember there have been plenty of others with this issue that have gone on to have good careers.

"Several current and former AFL stars have had problems with the sesamoid bone including (Finn) Callaghan, Dylan Shiel and Travis Colyer — with all three having it removed surgically."

Again you haven't a clue.

Firstly sesamoiditis is not incurable. The sesamoid bones are 2 little pea sized bones near the base of the big toes. When they go bad, you have surgery to rid them. Once they're gone they no longer cause the irritation. They serve no functional purpose to the foot or biomechanics. Hewitt will be fine.

I just assume Hewett isn't going to be a star because of injury. Hopefully the club is also planning around that at draft time and isn't just hoping for the best.

He's a complete unknown.

Looking at a number of US University medical journals, the surprising result is 80% of Athletes return to their sport within 4-5 months of surgery and the overall satisfaction rate with the surgery is in the high 90%.

Must admit I wasn't expecting the high rate of success, but there you go!

Barrass to Bulldogs getting a decent run on MWT. Suggesting Smith compo pick in straight trade for TB.
Crazy how the bloke did a televised interview where he confirmed his commitment to West Coast and then not a 6 months later it’s “Oh okay, anyway…how about Barrass gets traded hey?”

It’s just pointless discussion and a waste of time

You haven't the foggiest .

Ginbey was top 10 at the 2022 AFL draft combine for

Standing and running vertical jump
20m sprint
2km time trial

The kids an elite athlete that with a couple more preseasons will be huge.

As for his skills, they can all improve.

You’re barking up the wrong tree trying to introduce facts, I’m afraid.

Finn Callaghan looks like he’s going alright…

You've got to be a psyop. Did you have anything to do with Julian Assanges release?

Absolute rubbish, especially on Ginbey

You couldn't even name 9 players from his draft that go higher than him right now to make him not worth the pick he was taken, let alone him going "significantly lower"

Just hogwash
