This hawks pick 14 trade has taken most by surprise but I dare say there is more to this and we have probably agreed to something. I am guessing something like below is going to happen next week.

TB Trade
Eagles give: TB, F3
Hawks give: Hawks F1, Carl F1

Trade for Baker:
Eagles give: Hawks F1
Richmond give: Baker, F3

Splitting pick 3:
Eagles give: Pick 3, 26
St Kilda give: Pick 7, 8, 46
Love this

Essentially give TB, 3, 26, F3

Gaining Baker, 7, 8, F3 linked to woodem spooner favourites, F1 linked to Patrick Cripps FC and 46

Build Clarke a statue

Hawks aren’t playing hardball like the media are spruiking. They want TB and are bending to us in some way. I get the feeling Eagles are actually starting to cook here 👨‍🍳

I think that would be seen as a bad trade by the Hawks. Barrass isnt worth Pick 6 and you'd probably want your club using it in this year's draft
They just let go of pick 14 .. don't think they're interested a first round pick the year...they've got the youth they're bringing in players

Barrass for Hawks future first and Carlton's future second rounder? Then give Richmond the hawks F1 for Baker?

Not good enough according to those on this board but if the club genuinely wants a first and second for him, it works.
You would be happy with Barrass for Baker plus pick 40 next year?
Of course you would, that would be something else to be miserable about.

Anyone suggesting we accept all future picks for the Barrass trade, just stop.
Clarke was quite clear that we are chasing a heap of top 20/25 picks THIS year to attack THIS draft.
I doubt very much we have any interest in getting 2 x F1 and trying to on trade them to get back a Top 10 this year given most list managers have said how difficult it is buying back into this draft such is the expectation on it.
If we get a deal that nets us a solid first this year which we dont trade for Baker and a F1 we can throw at Warner next year, maybe (unlikely to get that) but just getting future currency for him is not something I imagine will even be considered.

I love how tigers fans ThinK their threat of redrafting him in the PSD is a blow to us. Him singing for one year on the tigers to become a FA is the ideal situation.

Hope that's how it plays out.
Better for them anyway, with the way AFL hands out picks like candy, they'll probably get a top 5 for him :(

pantskyle was this all in the plan? What are your sources saying? Btw I’m not pulling the piss.

The stuff posted yesterday were from various sources and from what I gather in play. I'll do some chats this weekend.

Boss: Hey Bender, it's time for our monthly catch up - shouldn't be more than an half a hour or so.

Me: No worries (back of my mind worried about what I'll miss)

Come back to catch up on 5 pages of almost nothing; which is exactly what I both hoped for and expected.
Weird that your boss calls you Bender too

So we refused pick 14 for Barrass. Surely now we don't let him go unless it's for a top 10 pick in this year's draft.

Wouldn't be keen on trading him for future picks even if it's two future firsts given how poorly next year's crop seems to be rated compared to this year.

Baker I'd be more than happy to see heading to Freo

1. Next year's draft isn't poor. Probably ahead of 2024 12 months out.

2. Chad Warner.
