Hawks team that won their 1st final

It's some incredible recruiting sure, but to claim they built their team on high draft picks is a complete falsehood
you also can't compare that lot to us as there are no massive overpays in the traded in players. they are all value gets.

When’s the window close for when you can trade picks until? I know there’s a period post trade period and before the actual draft where you can.

Does anyone know the exact dates?

Fairly certain until when the picks are actually taken on the night of the draft.

There is nothing that can convince me that sliding from 3 to 12 is a good idea. This is nothing but gross incompetence. I keep hearing the apologist in the media saying we are "playing the long game". We were playing the long game and it was coming along nicely. Now we're playing the short game which will likely end up the "very long game".

If you don't have enough top tier talent, you can't win a flag. If it gets to a point Harley is all alone, he'll leave.

Clarke should be sacked tomorrow. It's unacceptable. As for Pyke, I'd suggest one or more board members will now death ride him out of the club. You can't make decisions like that and not upset some of the people who determine if you stay in the role or not.

I think Pyke goes once Harley bails and McQualter is sacked.

So 2 or 3 years.

We have significantly improved depth now. The wafl side should be better off, meaning players can develop better in that side
We were getting absolutely annihilated of the park. 3 players isnt going to fix it ESPECIALLY when we just lost 2 of our best WAFL players in Gaff and Trew

In this period we have basically added 1 more WAFL player to the mix and I dont honestly think that is the difference maker you are suggesting. Hope im wrong though because it was VERY hard to watch and see this year, especially for a guy like Clay Hall who was playing on a wing at one point :(

I think we need to reach competitive, we’re not there yet and it is a necessary step on the journey.
We just don’t want to plateau and get stuck at competitive.
Get FOS/Smith/Draper this year. Maybe convince Tigers that 26 or even 26 and F2 is enough. If not he goes to Freo and we look at someone else next year.

Over the next 4 years we have to fill that gap in our age profile (23 to 27). Do it, just not with top 10 picks. When we're finally competitive, if you don't have top end class, you plateau into mid table purgatory.

I'm trying to convince myself that just before the trade is put up Don Pyke is going to walk out

and a few minutes later we all have egg on our faces after yesterdays meltdowns.

Walk out and do what?

All that melon has done so far is said our trade "looks odd" in isolation, plead with everyone that we HAD to honour our commitment to a random OOC player (no idea why), then insult WCE fans with his mansplaining.

When he actually does something remotely positive, I'll get around him.

If we accept unders for Barrass we really need to show Matt Clarke the door.

Which is why i don't think we'll get the trade done, the Eagles are in public relations damage control and Hawks won't be able to bend us as they expected. The broader strategy bull tosh from Pyke will look utterly absurd if we don't trade Barrass.

It's a lose lose situation.

Yep pretty happy about that, Freo definitely ensured we paid too much for Kelly, it’s nice to return the favour

We may have forced the Dockers to loosen the Pick 11 out of their hands and slide back to Pick 14 so Wce gets to pick first at Pick 12 ..
The Freo picks 10 and 18 were already on the table for Bolton ..

Bar the Weagles Web everything Pyke’s known for in the last decade is just bizzare and terrible moments. This ain’t as bad as the camp but it’s as meme worthy as the crows power stance. Really hope the board has the balls to move him on if he continues with this kinda trips
