In no world is bolton worth 9 and 10, wtf are you guys on?
Also I’d want to hope freo have a pick before 13 and pick Allan before we do given his Peel connection. I like him, but very similar to Ruebs and not what we need rn. We need a Tauru/Trainor/Travaglia to get through to phase out spuds like rotham, (replace) TB, Witherden, JJ, Cole too to a lesser extent.

Is Trainor a flight risk?

Seems to be sliding a tad on Cal's rankings, alternatively seems like Travaglia is rising...
Trainor is out with concussion and has history. I would say clubs are worried about using a top 10 pick on him and that's why he's sliding.

Hopefully pick 13 would be travaglia/lindsay/berry

I reckon johnston is the perfect Cole replacement and has clean skills when coming out of the backline. Tauru is a awesome talent but I think maric could play his role and his foot skills are elite. Sadly think witherden gets a 1 yr extension

I understand the thought of not trading in players only picks and load up this year on youth.
Particularly with the next couple of years being pretty compromised and all.
But I still think we need a couple more experienced hardened bodies as well, probably 2-3 would be enough.

Graham sounds all but signed on and Baker sounds 50/50. Both would add more by being on the list than not.
Even someone like Dev who hasn't played a lot of AFL games but has several pre-seasons under his belt will bring in some experience and hardness which shouldn't be under valued.

If we just concentrate on drafting 6-8 kids we may find it will mean an extra year or 2 before we are competing at the top end of the ladder which, after the past few seasons, we probably don't want to be doing.

I think about a 60/40 split is what we need, 60% draft 40% recruit experience.

I am sure we all have different thoughts though.

I get that we need a Yeo inside bull type, but we are desperate for a slick/speedy moving Mcgluggage type AND an accumulator. Getting both Langford and Allen only addresses one of our three midfield needs.

I think you're right. Our ball use on the outside and off half back is average at best. Travaglia ticks a lot of boxes. Clarke said on gettable he's open to trading down.

On a side note I'd like to see Hough rotated through one of the wings in a Blake Acres type role.

Baker is not good enough to still be umming and ahhhhhinh about where to go. Seasons been over for weeks mate, pick a team.

Yep, if they cut deep enough they should be able to accomplish this

Its not necessarily about not wanting to trade in players, its which players and for what cost. Baker doesnt even have a role, like what is he? Its not like he costs a shit pick late in the draft like Dev or something, or free like Graham.
Do we need a 173cm mid/fwd who is pretty average at whichever role hes playing? We need outside players and Baker isnt that.

I dont think we are against trding guys in, just need to make sure theyre the right players and they are at the right price

Would rather Jack leading the WAFL than taking Pick 64, but we can’t stand in his way of extra years and he certainly isn’t in line for much KPF action at AFL level.

Love your work Jack. A star, a club legend, 298 games and a third quarter that almost single handedly dragged us over the line in the 2018 GF. Go well.

Pick will come in a bit with bid matching, hopefully helps us land Champion.

Like I said two days ago, don't expect the pick to be mindblowing. Pick 60 range is what we gave the Hawks in exchange for Sam Mitchell if I remember correctly so I expected it to be around there. This is more about clearing his contract from our cap than anything else.

As disappointing as it is that he leaves two games short of being our second Eagle to play 300...it is what it is, all the best to him, he wants his guaranteed extra year.

Agree, he'd be very strong in the WAFL while being decent depth, but it is what it is hes gotta do whats best for him.
Pick 64 will do
