I agree, I rate him. Probably have him 12-18 range, but that's not much different.

I think people are quick to write him off as he's 192cm and not true KPF size, Nic Riewoldt was 193cm and Darling 191cm so that argument is flawed.

We'd do very well to include him in a trade, even if that meant dropping back from 2 to 8 in the draft.

Instead of a Cadman at 2, you can take Phillipou at 8 with Georgiades.
Darling is a physical beast of a man, and he still gets done in some matchups now when he’s just not big enough.

Riewoldt had incredible aerobic capacity and played in a different era.

192cm isn’t big enough for a key forward moving forward unless you’re some kind of generational talent and a physical freak. Georgiades isn’t that.

Paddy Dow in his final VFL match this season: 41 disposals 24 contested possessions 15 clearances (7 centre bounce) 7 tackles 1 goal

What i would like to happen: Sheezle
What i think will happen: Cadman
Wouldn't be unhappy if selected: Tsatas
Too risky to expend pick 2 on: Wardlaw

What you think of Tsatas.

Geez he looked pretty terrible in this video… Was already against him over other options but this puts a line through him for me.

It was rather hazy not too long ago but my preference is clear now:
1. Warlord
2. Cadman
3. Split pick

Unless an excellent offer comes our way I say we keep it simple and draft whoever North overlook between Warlord and Cadman.

My friend is the head recruiter at Port and apparently we are getting their 1st round pick for Ian Downsborough, Brayden Lyle and Shane Bond. Been in talks for weeks already

Do we lose Schofield?
Serious question, if Jedd Busslinger didn't get injured would he be projected to go higher?
I still have him top 4-5.

What you think of Tsatas.

Granted its only one game but his kicking is horrific. He does look like a ball winner who is good with his hands though. I reckon if he's a first to the ball type like Matt Priddis he could have a very good career. If he's a second or third link in the chain he's in trouble.

I think the counter-argument is that key forwards are getting bigger and bigger.

There are now midfielders bigger than Riewoldt and Darling. Including the Brownlow Medallist.
True, they are. But it's not the be all and end all to be 200cm was more my point.

George is probably one of the quickest forwards in the league, so that is an asset when leading. His athletic profile also means, he has a good leap and power. Without these attributes, I'd be more concerned.

So this isn't highlights but shows what type of player he is everytime he goes near it it's a complete video package good or bad it gives more insight into what the player is like then just the run of the mill highlight video.
Cadman looks great though even if he misses a couple of shots.

North going for Wardlaw could be a blessing in disguise for us. Means Cadman is right for the picking. Don't want us to split the picks. Let's get him. Kennedy 2.0.

Would we consider giving North pick 2 for their future 1st? Likely a top 4 pick in a better draft. Or is this crazy talk?
Probably crazy talk. Would want something else with it.

Best case scenario North don’t improve finish bottom 2 and we get the same pick a year later in an “apparently” stronger draft. Maybe we get Harley Reid from it that’s best case.

Worst case scenario North get there act together as Clarkson gets back to coach post afl investigation that sweeps it all under the table and suddenly it’s pick 8-12 and you have lost a year of development in an A grade talent.
Cadman or Wardlaw turn into stars and we get pick 12 in 2024 and it flops

We will know the answer in a few years time

My thinking is that there needs to be a premium for accepting the unknown of a future selection.

We don't know what North's future 1st could look like. And we don't know what the 2023 draft cohort ends up looking like. 12 months ago we thought Hewett, Lemmey and Sculley would be top 5 picks, now 2 out of the 3 look like they might go in the rookie draft.

He often is second or third link in the chain, which is the issue. When he hits full speed, he pops the kick and shows way too much of it to the defender.
He's always been a massive no for me, especially at pick 2.
If for some bizarre reason we had pick 9, and he was there I'd do it.

Any trade for our pick 2 should be done on draft night. I think it will be most valuable after it is known who North select, and teams may scramble to try and trade up to select the next best in Wardlaw, Sheezel or Cadman. So in this trade period, rather we keep pick 2 till draft night, and then if an offer comes in that is too good to refuse on the day, then sure trade it. My preference still is to keep the pick.
This should be the play. I’m warming to Cadman a little now so if Norf lose JHF and take Wardlaw I wouldn’t mind grabbing him unless an overs offer came in on draft night.

It also depends on how desperate Port are to land JHF and what else there is available to them. We might actually get a better haul from Port if they panic over someone being desperate for Cadman/Sheezel so it’ll be interesting to see.

Shouldn’t be trading pick 2 unless someone comes to us and the Rioli trade should be kept separate for our best interests

Yeah I wouldn't waste pick 2 on Tsatas based on that video. Would need to see more.

Surely any discussion around Sheezal now needs to be put in the bin.

If not for his recent interview, then for the exact thing that is happening with Horne Franflog at the moment. We're absolutely desperate (Like Avishka at a university bar) for one of our picks to come good after the Kelly trade and so many years playing finals, we can't afford the risk.

Anyone mentioning Sheezals name again for pick 2 needs to be leg swept 🦵

Everyone saying Georgiades is too small and not KPF height seem to forget players like Darling, Pavlich, Fevola, Modra…etc

Now I’m not saying Mitch is in the category of any of the players above, Ofcourse he’s not but he has attributes such as his athleticism and pack marking that allow him to compete and compensate for being a fraction smaller. He’s done pretty well for the first 50 games of his career

For a comparison

Mitch Georgiades
Games: 47
Goals: 63.47
Marks: 207
Tackles: 91

Logan McDonald
Games: 24
Goals: 24.21
Marks: 91
Tackles: 32

Riley Thilthorpe
Games: 25
Goals: 26.17
Marks: 93
Tackles: 43

Hell even compare him to older forwards and his stats are still decent.

Tom Lynch (first three years)
Games: 38
Goals: 35.24
Marks: 193
Tackles: 60

Jack Riewoldt (first three years)
Games: 46
Goals: 57.38
Marks: 240
Tackles: 97

Tom Hawkins (first three years)
Games: 43
Goals: 59.32
Marks: 213
Tackles: 80

Josh Kennedy (first four years)
Games: 45
Goals: 49.30
Marks: 238
Tackles: 73

Again i'm not saying he's the messiah or will be a superstar, just that i think he's shown he has a decent future in the AFL and i wouldn't turn my nose up to him under the right circumstances.

I'd much prefer Wardlaw was available with pick 2 but if we feel he won't be i'd much prefer Georgiades and pick 9 which would give us one of Phillipou, Hewett, Mackenzie, Ginbey, Hollands over Cadman, Tsatas or Clark out right.

Maybe Hawks and Bombers come hard for our pick and Sheezel but i don't see them offering two firsts for him which is why i'd try dealing with Port and just grab Mitch.

I swear this exact topic was discussed one page back.
Oh was it? I must get you to send me the itinerary of future pages and what discussions take place on them Ambrose as i don't want to let you down in the future mate and be too redundant or maybe i just disagree with your simple counter argument that key forwards are getting bigger and thought i'd use some stats to back up my point of view on how i see his career is progressing to this point.

Either way......

Very decent of you.
