Can someone provide a credible link to this “proposed trade.

If what I’m reading is legit, it borders on incompetence.

Pick 2 should get you back something like picks 8 and 9/10.

If anyone here thinks JHF won’t make a difference to Port’s midfield, they haven’t been watching.

The kid will be sleeping at home, his real home. He’ll be playing in a functioning midfield.

That future Port pick will definitely be in the 11 to 18 range.

They probably don’t make it past the second round of the playoffs, as they still have issues with their tall defenders and forwards.

You also have to remember, regarding Port:

Charlie Dixon was injured for the bulk of the year
Alir Alir was injured for a lot of the year
Their midfield was poor in the first half of the season
They will add Rioli and JHF
They were a little unlucky in a few close games they easily could have won

Port in all likelihood are only going one way: up

This deal is potentially Fremantle levels of bad trading for us

Not sure what I’m missing.

Call it 2 and 30 for 8 and 14. Seems fine, especially given it could also be a lot better than 14?

Would obviously always take another pick chucked in for a lol, but is that really that bad?

Everyone’s been saying for months how much of a muchness the top players are in this draft after Ashcroft, but now the Eagles are testing that theory and we’re all melting about it?
2 and 30 for 8 and 14 is not fine. I don't like that trade for 2 only much less with the 30 thrown in.

I have been against splitting our pick the whole time but this is hardly a favourable deal. Instead of a top 3 talent we get pick 9 for Hewett because WA and a likely pick in the teens. Plus we give Rioli up for free.
Not only that but help the team that the future first is tied too, get better by helping a former pick 1 (generational talent apparently) and Rioli get there. For two picks between 8 and 15.

Port look like geniuses. Didn't have to give up a player for JHF as requested plus they get Rioli out of it for free.

It should be saying something that North didn't want to do the 8 and a future 1st for JHF but they'll do it for pick 2

Add 43 coming to us from Port as well and it’s looking something approaching thereabouts

Will we even use 43? I reckon not.
We'd want to have a pick upgrade with a third (fourth?) party lined up.

Needs to be a 2nd rounder coming our way to make it balanced, IMO.
So we get 8, F1st and a 2nd rounder.

We wouldn't use the pick.
What Miguel Sanchez proposed and adding in 43 would give us 8,20,26,33,40 and 43 so you’re right in saying we wouldn’t use that many picks…

But bundle up 33,40,43 and it might get us 22 off Essendon- 43 being the pick that gets it over the line

Then we have 8,20,22,26 plus Ports F1

From a starting point of 2,20,26,40 plus Rioli

A net change of 2,40 and Rioli for 8,22 and Ports F1

That I could not only live with, I’d be happy about

There you go, Ryan Daniels puts out the flame.

It was a stupid rumour - hopefully, just a rumour...

Don't care, I'm still so pissed off at the hypothetical I'm on my way to shit in Nesbitt's mailbox as we speak.

If Port trade their first rounder they can’t trade their second rounder. It’d have to come from somewhere else.

Okay, you lay the cable in the box and I'll go the doorstep.

As for Rhino, he's come a long way from the wee little sport report dude to be the main man in WA football news pretty quick.

Give the lad a medal.
