You also have to remember, regarding Port:

Charlie Dixon was injured for the bulk of the year
Alir Alir was injured for a lot of the year
Their midfield was poor in the first half of the season
They will add Rioli and JHF
They were a little unlucky in a few close games they easily could have won

Port in all likelihood are only going one way: up

This deal is potentially Fremantle levels of bad trading for us

They’ve lost their second best player this year.
Dixon is 33 and unlikely to recover near his best.
Their #1 lockdown defender is 33 next year and slowing down quickly.
Boak is only going to get worse.

I can’t see Port going up at all, every team above them has improved barring Saints who should naturally have some improvement.

Gold Coast is extremely likely to jump above them.

Rozee goes down and they are in a lot of trouble.
