Is it the player saying to the player manager I only want to play in Melbourne? Then the player manager telling them how to plant the seed without being overt about it?
Wouldn't be hard at all for the players to elude to it, there's so many different ways.

I prefer drafting talls from WA . You can be more patent with their development when they are supported by family and still kick around with their mates .

Instead of having to pigeon hole them into the side to keep them happy not to leave ala brander .

Have we ever had a long term tall that wasn't from WA ?
Ashley Hansen took a fair while to get in the team playing in the two’s.

Jed Anderson delisted Free Agent ....better then most available, Clarkson not keen on Anderson at Hawks gone at North also .

Help WC

Anderson was the player most speculated to be one of the few who revealed the allegations against Clarko for what its worth.

Personally I reckon he would have made his dissent very public when North announced Clarko as coach if true imo.
Why ?

He would never get another team taking him on with baggage like that .

What's done is done the investigation will bring any culprits to light .

Better to play afl while you can then name and shame after you retire

FWIW I think the club did well with what they had to work with during the trade period

Rioli,2,40 for 8,12, Ports future 2nd and 3rd

Initially thought we may have done better out of splitting pick 2 but once the dust settled and looking at what players will be available at 8 & 12 I can see why the club did the trade

A F2 for Rioli is fair and as much as we could realistically expect with the prospect of losing him in the PSD looming. Then a F3 for pick 40 that seemed surplus giving us another pick next year was tidy

Given the nature of this draft and a very even group of players those picks 8 and 12 should net us two very good prospects. And I don’t think we we’re going to get a better pair of picks by trading down

Feel like all 4 clubs got what they wanted out of the mega trade and each did better than they would’ve had trades been done individually

And a question for you - do any of West, Winder or Trew have a 2023 contract?

I believe one of them does - no names at present

Rumour is he and Sheezel told West Coast and GWS they didn’t want to move interstate.

And the rumour originated out of GWS on the draft combine weekend, before Adrian Caruso had his say on Trade Radio the week after.
I believe Wardlaw played the religious card as well not wanting to move along with Sheezel
I also believe WCE GWS and Adelaide all made informal complaints to the AFL about them both
This was all over the combine weekend
It also why Sheenan come out with his comments

Wasn’t Sheezel the religious one (Jewish from memory)?

In any case, such a huge disadvantage for non-Victorian teams. I can see now why we split pick 2.

I didn't say that. I said WC are aware of what is happening. If there was a player who was clearly better they would be selected no doubt

Can't believe Rotham is contracted until 2024.
How the hell did that happen?
Lower wage more years i assume .
Same with petrol and xon

With the age demographic of our list having a bet each way like this isn't a bad move .

We have so much delist fodder before rotham and retirees
