See who is doing more "McNamara run" or "Cunnington kick" in the Tasmania R10 game, but I assume Hawthorn don‘t want to lose in Tasmania.

Hawthorn got their head in front for the Harley Reid cup.
I suspect a lot of Hawthorn injury and soreness before the Tasmanian game. They are pretty keen.
NM still a dark horse.

Can’t believe we managed to lose by 46 points and go up the ladder

In all seriousness, how much of our list can we turn over between delistings and retirements?

How much trade capital do we have to attract a few 22 to 25 year old players from other clubs ? That is an age cohort where our list is desperately lacking.

Shuey, Hurn, Trew, Winder, XON, Foley, Clark and West should all be gone at years end. Maybe a couple of others depending on contract status or willingness to take an early payout (looking at you Nic).

Looking like it is going to be a major list upheaval at the end of the season; which can’t come soon enough the way we’re going.

Depends on A lot of factors.

A) Who we've got to bring in, from what trades

B) What picks we end up with after the trade period.

As much as I'd love to piss the entire deadwood wafl brigade plus a couple oldies off, I'm inclined to think we won't be paying out anyone early (Naitanui, Rotham).

If we don't find someone to trade up our picks with and we end up with 4 good picks and 3 trash picks, that might save someone. 5 good picks might not.

What happens with trades? Dev coming in means someone else gets cut. Dev staying at Brisbane means someone is safe. Likewise Georgiades.

As it stands, personally I'm quite happy to part ways with as many of Xon, West, Trew, Winder, Clark, Rotham, Foley, Petrucelle, Edwards, SPS, Naitanui, Shuey and Hurn as we can.

Daresay it'll be 8 at most.

The trade option has passed us. 2-3 playes of trade value are absolute structural essentials to keep. Barrass is one possibility but that wil never happen.

The draft with minor trades will take 3 seasons for us to emetge as a threat. We must trade in real quality not pick 8-15 type quality.

Of the player we fielded yesterday (kids aside) who would get a game in a competative AFL team? Allen, Kelly, Barrass and perhaps Sheed. The reality is the others are WAFL standard. The tragidy is tey when the play WAFL they dont dominate, the may make the Beagles best 5 and have fan boys salivating but they are way short of being the BOG.

Simmo is on the money - we are not good enough and must go to the draft.

We’re in for a painful couple of years but just need to keep calm and draft. Don’t do a Freo and trade 3 x first rounders for a key forward that goes bust. Bring in guys who won’t cost much trade wise or free agents.

We could attempt to trade guys like Gaff, Gov or Darling but don’t think we would get much more than a future fourth. Anyone who has value (Allen, Barrass, Ryan) we need to keep. I would suggest trading Kelly but the only team he would go to is Freo and they have no trade capital (especially for midfielders).

Trevor Barker Beach Oval where they are playing has water splashing as they run and ball splashes when it hits the ground

Rotham's 25....Glass was 19/20 playing a fair chunk of his first and second seasons after being drafted. Emac was a year or two older than that when he came good.
Rotham should be in his prime right now.
Rotham looked great taking unopposed marks yesterday and everyone will remember his uncontested drop that led to a goal and say oh it was just one bad moment in a good game.

The more telling moment for me was a Richmond goal in the third quarter I can’t remember who but it came in deep to a contest, spilled and Richmond player ran through the contest with eyes for the ball picked up the ball and snapped the goal from about 15m out. Rotham was sitting loose and just watched the goal kicker run past him through that contest choosing not to go in as well.

I’d have taken the gif of this but I deleted by droplr subscription because Alesana does a far better job with the footage.

He wants the easy ball and isn’t willing to do the hard things to compete. As far as I’m concerned anyone repeatedly showing this attitude needs to be shown the door.

Rotham and still having a contract for 2024
