If we could pick up a few mid tier players like Fisher, Robertson, Sharp etc even if we need to front end their contracts and pay overs, if guys like this can replace guys like XON, Clarke, Trew etc we already become a better side.

We have some decent seniors, we’re working on young draft talent, It’s that delistable bunch that we’ve kept for too long that we need to upgrade.

Add trey ruscoe to that list . He can't get a game at Collingwood . 193cms quick , uses the ball well and unlike rotham doesn't shit the bed all the time .

Upgrade on rotham , Foley, witherden

There seems to be a constant chat linking Fisher and us.

Herald Sun today reporting the following

DUMPED BLUE’S LIKELY LANDING SPOT

West Coast shapes as a likely landing spot for Zac Fisher, who wants out of Carlton after being dropped twice already this year.

The Herald Sun revealed last week Fisher was keen for more midfield time despite having two more years running on his contract.

Carlton would be open to brokering a deal and with Fisher’s deal believed to be worth between $400,000-$500,000 a season it would actually open up cap space for the Blues.

Fisher has racked up huge possession tallies playing midfield in the VFL and a club like West Coast could use his ball use and speed during its rebuild.

Fisher played every game last year as a small forward and kicked 18 goals but has kicked only three goals in eight games for the Blues this year.

I would be OK with a straight swap with Petruccelle. Both players re hard to value and feel like a late R3/early R4 pick would do for either of them. Not saying he is a great pick up - but the noise won't go away and that is usually a sign. If we do keep Petch, I would offer our our R4 pick. That assumes we use the Port R3 on Robertson.

Fisher was drafted in 2016 and that age group includes Waterman, SPS, Jones, Rotham and Witherden. Quantity and not quality. I can see a world where West, Clark and O'Neill are gone come season end and I sense that Fisher is an upgrade on all three midfield options.

Blues are needing speed and small forwards and I had heard 2 or 3 years ago they asked the question to us on Petch.
If fisher is contracted till 2025 and they want his 400k+ salary off there books they can salary dump him.

I hope West coast are fielding salary dump offers to boost our draft capital. We have the room to fit them.

Sumich has finally gone full blown mental breakdown on sports fm this morning over Jake waterman of all people.

Somehow believes he is worth 600-700 somewhere else and because , and only because, he is the son of Chris waterman he should be on a four year deal… no mention of performance of anything just because he is a father son and if he isn’t signed Sumich won’t ever set foot in the club again( so theirs something positive)..

Also interesting about the past player group apparently having a say in how the footy club is run and now they are upset because the current people there don’t care for their opinions….

Will upload said interview when it’s put up.

Sumich would struggle to run a bath, let alone a footy club.

Why would the club give 2 shits what Dinosaurs from the 90s think on how to run a footy club?

He's angry at the club for not giving him the coaching job.

Looking back, it seems like we dodged a bullet overlooking him. Nesbitt and co need to be congratulated for seeing him for the bitter individual he would end up becoming.

To be fair one of those dinosaurs is actually running the club at the moment and is impossible to be killed off along with one of his minions

True.

Need an extinction event for the CEO position.

'Bring it in': Mitchell bullish on looming trade mechanism - 'Bring it in': Mitchell bullish on looming trade mechanism

This is a funny idea. If this happened, every team will have a partner team. For example, WCE and the Dockers are both owned by the WA Govt can be partners. Every five year, we take turn to feed the partner team with good players and salary caps for competing the premiership while the other will in return with good draft picks for rebuild. Five years later the rebuilt team will get the star players and salary cap back and the cycle is reversed.

This concept was mentioned a few years back in one of our WCE threads as a joke. Now the joke might become reality.
Sam Mitchell below.
"The possibility of trading players without their consent has been floated as part of Collective Bargaining Agreement discussions, but the Hawks coach said pick purchasing was a clear way to help young sides increase their draft hand and use their cap space in proactive ways.
"I don't know any other ways, other than moving players without their consent, which I know there's been a small push for," Mitchell said.
Yeah that's all well and good to push blokes across the Victorian metro area, but try and tell someone Perth born and bred or Adelaide born and bred nah get stuffed you're off to St Kilda/Tasmania/Gold Coast/GWS

Stupid VFL mentality.

The last few pages appear to be filled with free agency recruitment targets. Unless players we bring in fill a need beyond 'a body on the field' I'd rather rebuild through the draft. Jayden Hunt has been a bloody handy addition because he filled a need. Players like SPS though are handy but they aren't going to make it unfortunately.

Unless the likes of Fisher, Robertson, etc are likely to be best 22 when we're next in the top four, forget it. The only exception I would make is for 'on-field leader' types as we've been sorely lacking in this area without the likes of Hurn, Shuey and Yeo on field. In saying that, we'd be better off extending Hurn a year than trying to pay overs for someone that doesn't fit the criteria above.

He's a properly strange unit is old Suma.
Suma, Kane Cornes, Damien Barrett, Matthew Lloyd... you're better off listening to Brick Tamland

Good example of why concussion protocols and head injury 🤕 reduction in the game is a desirable thing.

Couldn’t think of a better group to show first hand the dangers of too many head knocks.

The slow monotone voice of Lloyd makes him sound like a ^%^.

.. What's Barrett's excuse?

Not to attack how the bloke looks... but he's dressed like a toolie trying to pick up underagers in Busso

Also wearing a cheap, piece of shit Van Huesen shirt and his belt is too big, not leather and not tucked in. ****** with no sense of class or style. Needs to change to either an MJ bale (premium label) athletic cut (if you want Australian branded) or to a Thomas Pink slim fit. Knowing his height and build there's no way he's bigger than a 39.

(so people know Thomas Pink whilst a very old brand is Louis Vuitton's premium mens business wear label)

For an off the rack shirt you won't find a better one. Most tailored shirts use fabric nowhere near the quality.

Also no chance he handballs that ball because it’d hurt his poor hand.

Made the mistake of listening to this

If Sumich thinks Waterman is worth $600-700k for 4 years then I’m glad he’s nowhere near our list management

Happy for Jake to get a new deal but 2 years is more realistic for a player who’s on the edge of best 22

That whole segment was an awful listen

I wouldn’t have pick WCE_phil as a fashion guru. Sort of imagined him as a board shorts , Bintang singlet and thongs sort of guy. 😉

Work high end finance for a number of years and you end up being a bit of a connoisseur.

Now however when doing business in SE Asia the closest you will get is light linen dress pants and a cotton business shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

Anywhere else and all bets are off, it's comfort all the way.

Where does a shirt from Big W and pants from Kmart fit into this?

My belt also doesn't fit well because I bought it when I was about 14kg heavier 😊

I'd love to live in the tropics to be able to pull off the linen look.

Right now I do resemble Jonah Hill as that weapons dealer dude though.

Phil, you continue to surprise and delight.
