How would you rate them compared to dewar and baker?

Collard and Livingstone being forwards are probably easier to compare to Dewar and when comparing them, although they aren't similar types of players, Collard and Livingstone are showing more at a colts level than Dewar did although probably showed similar at Championships level.

Collard is electrifying and is one of those players that can turn a game on its head with 6 disposals. Kicked 5 yesterday for Subiaco and kicked 6 earlier in the year, he is untouchable when he gets running. The Shai Bolton comparison is spot on, he's almost a Shai Bolton clone. He'll be picked up.

Livingstone has that ruck versatility and can also kick a bag up forward. Shows great aggression and physicality which you love to see in a big man. Beautiful skills but maybe didn't have the championship performances he was hoping for.

Hine-Baston is impressive and apart from the unfortunate Nick Watson game had a very impressive championships. He has a beautiful kick, is explosive and has great balance between attacking and defending. Can also see him playing inside like a Caleb Daniel/Tom Papley type situation to provide some burst.

Senge is easier to compare to Baker as they both play the wing, and to be quite frank if you look at numbers in Baker's draft year compared to Senge's, they've had very similar outputs.

Senge is a very fast, skilful and high iq wing. He's leading the coaches votes as it stands and has been in the best consistently for Subiaco but the only worry for him would be size and the fact he didn't play the championships. He does have the versatility to go inside and also can play as a small forward.

Two names spring to mind; Naitanui and Yeo.

Am I doing this rite?

That turd Barrett has done his 3 word analysis column for this round and for North he has "Priority Pick Time". Does that mean he is now pushing for a PP for North after as little as a week ago vehemently arguing against a PP for us by saying he doesn't believe in PP's at all and claiming to have opposed the PP picks for North last year. I certainly don't remember him opposing the ones North got last year but i am too lazy to go back and check. I suspect he said a whole bunch of stuff about and some of it was in favour and some of it was on the fence and he is now to trying to gild the lilly and pretend to have been opposed. But how on earth can he argue for more PP's for North on top of those they already got last year and all the high draft picks they have had in the last 5 years and oppose a PP for us?
That kent is employed to be the mouthpiece of the AFL too.

CEY SPP for Darling and our second round pick
They're not going to let him go. He's super important for them.

He's not good enough to be in the midfield. He's a step below Cripps and Dusty. He's like Chuck Norris to Harrison Ford. But in Port's top 4 flag window team, having a guy like him run around around, hard as nails, getting shit done. He gives them another dimension.

He would be perfect for us for a few years but I don't think Port are letting him go.

He's only been consistent this year as a forward....not a pure mid. As long as your expectations were only that he plays a forward pinching in the midfield, sure.

I'm talking pure mid.

Let me clarify;

I don't rate him as a mid. Never have. He's B grade. But the idea isn't to build a flag around him. The idea is to provide some protection while Ginbey, Hewett, Reid etc learn their craft. At the moment Shuey and Yeo are struggling to stay on the park and Redden is gone. Gaff, Sheed, and TK are outsiders. Good for getting top draft picks, not good at providing an environment where young players can ease into it.

We need a big bodied mid to help these guys. Someone with AFL experience who would come quite cheap. We would expect to draft someone like this in the next few seasons, but in the meantime we may have to recycle someone. Dev Robbo is an option - young and inexperienced, but been in the system long enough that what you lose experience you get a 10 year player rather than a 2-3 year player.

There will come a point where we thing we have a really good nucleus and want to provide them with a god environment to develop in. We're going to need some experienced muscle.

So the cavalry are returning and the losses are now only 6 to 7 goals but not really looking like a win and with Ryan, NicNat and Yeo all done for the season, there is no more cavalry to return of any substance.

How will that leave us for end of season?

Our run home is :
Blues @ Marvel - likely loss
Norf @ home - likely win
Dons @ Marvel - likely loss
Freo @ Optus - likely loss with an outside of it being Hurn's last game and we turn it on
Doggies @ Marvel - likely loss
Crows @ Optus - likely loss unless Crows out of the running for finals as they are the new önly win at home" team

Norf - they have Saints at Marvel, Eagles at Optus, Dees in Hobart, Dons at Marvel, Tigers at MCG and Suns in Hobart. It could be no more wins with only the Eagles and Suns games as possible outside odd of a win.

I cannot see Norf dropping down 20% points or us gaining that many so the % is as good as a game difference.

The current odd are for West Coast to win the wooden spoon - offering $1.05.

So it looks in all seriousness as we will be holding the Harley Reid pick.

So what are the godfather offers likely to be?
GWS
With the improvement in both Giants and Tigers, I predict GWS to be holding picks 8 and 10 and possibly 11 if Himmelberg leaves for a monster deal. These three picks would not tempt me.
If GWS get Norf involved and can deliver 2 and 8, that might be a different option. Maybe GWS could offer up Haynes to Norf as part of their package!!
Would the Hawks sell pick 3?

Dees
The Freo pick is looking very good while the Dees look to have sewn up a top 4 finish.
I predict they finish with one of picks 4 or 5 and and picks around 15 to 17. Whilst 4 looks tempting, the rest of what they have does not so
I can see Hawks doing something to move back 2 spots from 3 to 4 or 5 but would pick 24 be enough? Alternatively picks 5 and 17 for 3 and 31!

Dogs
Prediction of holding picks 14 and 15 is way to far back to get excited. The only option would be to include either Naughton or English as part trade on the assumption that they believe they cannot afford both or they believe one is off as a RFA and they could not match it.

Norf
Norf holding 2 and a Port's pick around 15 to 18 plus a possible Harry compensation pick at 3. Could it be a straight 2 and 3 for 1 offer? I'd take it but I cannot see it being offered. That would be a Curtin and McKercher or Harley decision. I would probably take 2 and 3 for 1 and Port's R2. Norf might be more interested in a trade back IF they can manipulate the AFL to do a deal on Sanders being protected as an NGA.

I see the Suns pick coming in at around 6 which is a great pick but would only tempt me if it came with pick 2 or 3. I would not want to be negotiating for the Suns picks - leave that to the club that wants pick 1.

Something like pick 2 and 6 would be very tempting for 1.

You’ll likely have to trade up to get him

Currently you’ve picks 21 and 40 courtesy of North and that pick 40 probably pushes outside 40 with the myriad of FA compo picks and academy/FS bids

Whenever I think things are as bad as they can be, I remember Freo are bottom 4 with that draft hand.

What if the Dee's trade for the Suns 1st.

Pick 4 and 5/6 plus a F 2nd gets it done IMO.

We may send back a F3rd.

Article on FoxSports saying that the noise around the Barass to Sydney possible trade is getting pretty loud. They have Montagna quoted in there suggesting that the Swans first pick (currently 4) is a fair trade for Barass plus a second rounder.

It is funny how there is more coverage of this potential trade in the Victorian based football media (which normally focusses on Victoria) than in the WA media even though no Victorian clubs are involved.
