Three queries for me.

1. Lack of pace.
2. Where does he play at the next level ?
3. His man child size was a point of difference at the lower levels, suspect he will come right back to the pack at AFL.

For me I would be very nervous taking him in the top 30.

That said he is a natural leader and he does football well, so it’s not out of the question that he makes it, BUT we need to ask the question - if he doesn’t develop significantly, worst case scenario -do we really want a slow half back flanker who's scope for improvement is a real question mark.
Conversely best case scenario - is he a younger version of Jye Bolton with out the smart arse attitude.

Time will tell.
Jye Bolton can afford to have a smart arse attitude.

So Nate Caddy is 192cm has kicked 25 goals at Coates league and had an average 18s state carnival yet is ranked at pick 10.

Logan Morris is 192cm has kicked 30 goals and starred in a couple of state matches yet isn’t in Cal’s top 30 or WCE_phil top 40. You sure you’re not hiding him from us?

Both similar maturity play very similar games would be a good Waterman replacement if he left.
I'd take Logan Morris over Caddy.

Pick 19.

Has the aura of "value" as it's deemed like something that could be traded for greater value on draft day.

Like an outlier in the mix.

1-18 have there own diminishing value.

Then 19 with this aura.

Then 20 etc etc again with diminishing value.

Do we cash in the "aura" factor in trade week and bank a gain?

Say Adelaide's 20 & 23 for 19 & 35?

Or Sydney's 22 & 30 for 19?

Or Melbourne's 24 & 34 for 19?
It tends to have an aura in the context of the night and a player slipping. For this reason it's value is maximized during the draft. I don't see Adelaide giving up said picks during trade week with unknowns on who would be there.

Jordon Sweet requested a trade to Port so we can cross him off the list.

Now that dickhead Twomey has swinging dick Collard in his top 30 there would be other clubs ranking him similarly.

His last 2 games have really killed him getting to pick 40

Time to split pick 19 and get the little Kent plus something else. Pick 19 on it's own is a reach considering who might still be available.
Lions, Bombers and the Sydney clubs are always pretty keen on WA talent and all have picks around where Twomey has ranked Collard.

Hawks would get better value just handing you Brockman. I’d take the empty list spot over Rotham.

Dear god his name really is ROTham… His name says it all ROT. This poor guy! 😂
Unfortunately for rotham is with all our injuries he has had to hold down a key defensive post playing on monsters with zero midfield pressure on the ball carrier.

He has copped a hiding but almost all players would get smashed under those circumstances

The best rotham has looked was when he had a favourable match up and not having to make the play .

All I know is when there's smoke in the Vic flog media there's usually fire.

Twomey is the most basic Kent, if he's noticed Collard kicking 10 goals in the last 2 WAFL Colts finals you better believe actual recruiters would've as well.

Twomeys rankings are just tip of the iceberg, I suspect ESPNS and other places doing monthly power rankings/phantoms Collard will have seemingly gone from a nobody outside pick 40 to now featuring.

I was staunch about waiting until pick 40 but I feel that's ships set sail and a pick split is probably on the cards. Could be another Shai Bolton, can't risk it.

Or Charlie

So we can rule out Nick Bryan and Jordon Sweet from the three rucks we’ve reportedly had interest in this off-season.

Now it just leaves Matt Flynn

What about Brynn Teakle? Out of contract, may get squeezed out of Port if they bring in Sweet and retain Lycett.

Good age (24 next month), size (203cm), from WA (Disclaimer; I don’t know where his uncles are from though and whether they’re associated with any Darwin team, I’m sure that’s hugely relevant to some).

Only downside is he seems to have been a bit injury prone.

Haven’t heard about any interest from us but Teakle is definitely one we should be asking the question about

Perfect fit for us.

I don’t hate it.

I’m just wondering , Flynn is only 200cm right? Same size as our mate Bailey “2025 Brownlow Medallist” Williams. I know Bailey is on the lighter side, but are we gaining much other than depth with another undersized ruck?

It’s a very simplistic interpretation I do understand, but I’d be asking if we’re better off taking another ruckman of a more gorilla stature, or even Lycett for a year. I understand he’s absolutely cooked and a shell of his 2018 self, but even if he only plays half the season so Bailey isn’t our sole established ruck option and doesn’t have to play through three niggles every week it’s a plus.

Presuming he’d be open to a one year deal back here, he may well be very settled back in SA and unable to uproot

Teakle sounds good, I know nothing of him but his profile fits

You'd think if North get priority access to Sanders it would be fait accompli that we will do the same for Collard and have it granted.
If priority access you mean we can match when ever even before 40 ?

Or able to pre list them like GC got to do with a bunch of academy kids straight onto the list before the draft ?

Also is sanders even part of their academy? I was hearing they were trying to get him on their list

I bet the AFL give norf a couple of second round future picks to use like last year and make them bid on sanders.

They will use those on Fisher and Stevens

They'll then trade pick 3 down a couple of slots to pick 5 or 6 to match sanders. Dee's might give up 5 and 15 for 3.

Draft
2 mckercher
5 sanders
15 key defender
16 ruck

Fisher
Stevens

You give up too easy.

Based on some recent camping footage I think its best those interstate teams look elsewhere!

The AFL will AFL but i really hate that approach - create 2 second rounders out of nowhere and disadvantage every side in the competition except North & whoever they trade em' with.

Surely allowing a club access to their NGA product is less invasive
