Looks like we will need to take Collard with pick 19 or an early split of that pick, say 22 or thereabouts, and before the ⚓ boys have a selection.
I am ok with taking him there, if all the other attributes line up, like mentality etc.

Do Port just not have a salary cap or are they just going early with the expected increase next year. I know for a fact we don't have a salary cap indication as of today.

******* pissed off not to be getting Sweet. Has been absolutely tearing up the VFL and is 100% AFL ready now as a sole ruck.
You sound like all the people disappointed about us not getting lloyd meek last off season .

Williams has had an absolute ripper season and lloyd has been rather meek

We could just tell freo we won't take Edwards if they don't take collard

Lycett is out of contract this year which was on good money

Jonas is retiring

Fair chance Port have gone early anticipating a big salary cap increase and offering contracts on that basis when other clubs have been waiting

Two of the three they’re bringing in are also SA lads

Can only say I hope that Wells and Dodoro are at their campaignerish best this trade period
Sweet and zerk-thatcher are basically role players .

Esava wouldn't be on huge coin either probably just wants to not play VFL .

They said no to Grundy.

Port love their value picks where they can offer game time as the lure .

Zerk-thatcher had the most goals kicked on him than any other player this year apparently.

Some recruiters believe Collard is the most talented WA player this year – a pool that includes an array of possible first-round prospects.

LOOKS LIKE COLLARD is the best in WA. Many agree & I agree. A match winner is worth more than an oversized half back. This talent academy is absolutely pointless.
Freo fan part of our NGA just like Dewar lol.

Officially Flynn is 202cm, not much of a difference I know.

Kalin Lane is another possibility. 205cm, also WA background and a basketball background. Turns 22 before the end of the year. Yet to debut for Brisbane, stuck behind OMac and Fort, no idea how he’s going.
Poor. I've been dialed in on rucks and there's honestly not a lot out there for long term options. I'll back in Barnett and Williams to be better long term which kind of rules out picking any non best 22 already. I called Briggs last year and he came good, with Bryan behind Draper and could be poached at some point.

Bryan, Ess
Ryan, Rich
Moyle, GC
McAndrew, Syd

Would add to our stocks and all are playable next year too.

Bryan re-signed last week.

I think the time for doing that was before he re-signed last week.
Well it's not me that needs to grow a pair😂
I do see some of these guys re-contracting as a way for the outgoing player to protect the club of origin rather than be an iron clad agreement to play there for years.
An extra 200k & 1 more year of playing VFL when they think they should be in the 1's will change anyones mind.

Players not seeing out their contracts is getting more common, but how often do you see someone sign and then ask for a trade a month later?

I can’t think of a single example.

I think it'll happen at some point. There's been a few retirement backflips like Mal Michael & James Frawley.

It just sucks that we never get these bargain buys. He was borderline top 40 two weeks ago and now we have to use our second rounder?

Why bother having NGA players when you don’t get the good ones (or even the semi good ones). If North get access to Sanders I hope we’re on the phone too. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue for a 20-30 rated player if they’re doing it for a top 10 pick.

Caddy gives me some real Jack Darling vibes. Bit of an athletic monster who does the impossible and takes ridiculous clunks... but then does a whole bunch of stupid shit a third of the time too (fumbles, shanks, spilled marks, etc). Obviously a bit different in how they play, but he's going to frustrate the hell out of his new team's supporter base, haha.

The NGA two ruled system is the biggest flaw in our already very flawed draft. I understood it from a short term perspective but now is the time to balance it right out.

Yep. I think "let us match NGAs after pick 20 instead of 40" is probably something that the AFL could pretty easily grant to the bottom 4 teams, then just extend it further for North with Sanders. Hawks have Jiath in that range too I think.

Initially flat that we wouldn’t seek assistance, but the assistance is bullshit. Glad we aren’t, and id hope we’re campaigning for it to end.

Assistance shouldn’t be given when you’ve been garbage for 5 years, banked the picks and now happy to let your fb walk. if anything it should be have been given to North earlier.

This years Futures game on grand final day is going to be Team Selwood vs Team Natanui. Love it!

Only 3 WA Boys, Champion our NGA included.
Is Champion an NGA? He caught my eye in the 2 Collard highlights packages from the past couple of weeks. Seems to be heavily involvrd in a lot of plays and forward entries.

Your thoughts on him? Is he an underager?
