Imagine if Collard played in a prelim kicked 5 goals then Grand Final and kicked 5 goals
He would be firmly in 1st round calculations.
This scenario was every bit of a chance as he had taken command of the goal scoring.

Hayden Ballantyne was a very handy Fwd Pocket who went at Pick 21.

Kysiah Pickett another very handy Fwd Pocket who went pick 12.

Toby Greene another handy fwd pockett who went pick 11.

Lance Collard can absolutely be as good as those if not better. I think he can eventually make a move up to a wing. Very damaging player.

I don't know why people are so afraid to draft a 185cm small forward with elite speed, agility and kicking. He's dangerous in the air, recovers quickly when he hits the deck and has good goal sense.

I'm actually more concerned that Collard will light up the draft combine.

Imagine if he did this thing he didn’t do……

Now I’m not saying we shouldn’t take Collard with what’s currently pick 19 because my knowledge of the draft cohort isn’t in depth enough

But let’s make sure we assess players based on what they’ve shown

Is Champion an NGA? He caught my eye in the 2 Collard highlights packages from the past couple of weeks. Seems to be heavily involvrd in a lot of plays and forward entries.

Your thoughts on him? Is he an underager?
Yes, he's an NGA for next year.

Still very skinny and raw, but great speed and good skills. I haven’t seen much of him yet, but has always had good wraps on him and has been hitting the scoreboard regularly this season.

185cm says he's not that small and very capable of playing up the ground. Sounds to me just like Shai Bolton or possibly even better.

Why are people seriously pissed that it's unlikely we get Collard as an NGA?

If he's the best prospect at 19, just pick him

Don't want another repeat to Tim Kelly.

Cos he's a ginger

Also because the two games he's lit up went with 10 games of doing absolutely zilch

Your point? Means Collard is more likely to move to a wing and use his blistering pace and skills.
Can think of a few Champion indigenous wingman. Some of the best.

“185cm, not that small, reminds me of Shai Bolton”.
“Bolton’s only 176cm”.
“What’s your point?”

Get Mensa on the phone.

From the mind that brought you “Shane McAdam isn’t from WA because his uncles played in Darwin” and “Collard is the best Subi product since famous South Freo draftee Shai Bolton”.

Also all contracts will be ripped up in October 2021 any day now, but we won’t mention that.

The thing with Collard is his another small forward which we have plenty of especially if we are adding in Brockman.
Liam Ryan, Cripps, Long, Pectecelle, Brockman, could even throw Maric and Culley in that position aswell and who knows what's happening with Sam P Seton. Is he getting delisted or going around again.

If we use pick 19 are we going with our list needs or just hype of a player in a position we have a lot of.
If his that good I'd like us to keep pick 19 on list requirements and try to obtain Collard by possibly trading in another 2nd 3rd rnder either by using future second pick or working something out to obtain one. Two good games in the WAFL isn't going to cut it.
I want to see a lot more to give up pick 19 on him. Opponents here looked like very average players if we are being honest. This is a b grade game even for WAFL standards. Feels like I was watching a lower suburban country league here.

List needs
HIGH Priority- Midfielders
HIGH Priority- Backup ruck.

MEDIUM Priority-Key position forward or third tall forward
MEDIUM Priority-half back flankers since Hurns retired we have a hole if we get a few injuries.
Medium Priority- Key Back if Gov and Barrass go down we are left with Bazzo and Edwards who seem to be in no man's land at the moment.

I'd have Small Forwards as a low Priority at the moment. Probably the least needed position for us.
He looks good though. Small build so would take a few years to develop at AFL level but is super quick. Bit of Lewis Jetta vibes. He probally move from wing to small forward. And bit of taunting around the 2 minute mark haha. That kind of taunting would really piss a lot of people off lol. Especially opposition he'd get some unwanted attention for that for sure.

I guess you'd be hoping collard could nail down a wing position eventually, would definitely bring some outside polish .
Who knows how much ryan will play and petrucelle has show a fair bit as a midfielder this year so initially there might not be as much competition for those spots as youd think

Caddy gives me some real Jack Darling vibes. Bit of an athletic monster who does the impossible and takes ridiculous clunks... but then does a whole bunch of stupid s**t a third of the time too (fumbles, shanks, spilled marks, etc). Obviously a bit different in how they play, but he's going to frustrate the hell out of his new team's supporter base, haha.
From what I watched of Caddy and Morris, Morris was the better fit for us. He's also like a taller Jack Darling. Dunno why people prefer Caddy other than his fancy hair and AFL listed uncle.

It just sucks that we never get these bargain buys. He was borderline top 40 two weeks ago and now we have to use our second rounder?

Why bother having NGA players when you don’t get the good ones (or even the semi good ones). If North get access to Sanders I hope we’re on the phone too. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue for a 20-30 rated player if they’re doing it for a top 10 pick.

This is likely our only hope to get Collard cheap.

If the AFL allow North access to Sanders they throw us a bone.

Currently there is little to no incentive to run an academy unless you are in Qld or NSW.

Why are you so invested in us drafting Collard? Are you a relative of his or something?

You realize we're just a bunch of plebs on an Internet forum, right? No actual influence on who gets drafted? No need to convince us of your opinion.
