I think one thing to think about with the ruck situation is

Jack Williams - Forward/Ruck
Bailey WIlliams - Agile ruck
Harry Barnett - Raw agile ruck
Callum Jamieson - Raw agile ruck

Matt Flynn is a big body physical ruck. I dont see whose spot out of the above 4 he threatens. Flynn coming in for me lets Williams/Barnett compete for the agile ruck spot, Jack Williams focus more on the forward craft and Jamieson to move to defense and try be Sam De Koning instead

Its not really just that. They just need to sack the current boys club group and get some fresh faces in. Doesbt matter who does it. Someone needs to kill off that boys club. Its failing and past its used by date.

Tony Micale does some work development wise and with East Fremantle academy’s and Sumich and Micale warned the commission 5 years ago about the drop off coming in the young guys coming through.

You couple that with blokes who are happy to play colts and then when they get missed in the draft they go it’s all to hard and go to the country or the amateurs where they can earn twice and three times the money doing half the workload so the best of the colts guys disappear so there is no new 20-30 young guys playing league wafl anymore.

Sure. I'm not necessarily agreeing with the poster, just saying coming over for three years to support their teenage son, then all returning to Victoria where he can move out of home but still be close is presumably the concern. That said, a football career is only a little over 10 years, he could go back every year, they visit practically every month. It shouldn't be a concern.

Reid needs to learn to have "Buy in" at WCE for it to work, the big sell is if he chooses to play out his career with us he will get 2 years "Superannuation" after his playing days are over plus at least one max contract to set him up for life or play for Norths and never win a flag then get traded to StKilda and also not win a flag and be poor. He has more chance of winning a flag with us than most other Non Victorian Clubs and half the Victorian clubs. If he just wants to suckle "Mum's" tit then West Coast should just do a deal with Norths now and get Curtin and McKercher, I'd be ringing him up and laying it all out on the table if I was Simmo.
