Pace is impressive, as is his ability to weave through traffic, when he takes the game on.

However, kid needs to lower his eyes when passing to team mates up the ground, as he invariably sits his passes on their heads which makes it super easy for a defender to spoil, also his hand passes lack accuracy and often fall short.

If he can tidy his skills up he would be a handy player, if he cant he wont make it at the next level.
It sounds like you're saying that his decision making is a little... hasty

That's a bad Dad joke...Even for me.

Here's another!

Why did AFL draftee Angus Haste bring a ladder to his first training session?
Because he heard they were looking for someone to take their game to a whole new level! 😄

Robertson.

Pick 33 for DR and 45.

Brockman.

Pick 45.

Done deals.
Robertson will be future 3rd round pick. Brisbane will want draft points for next year. Think that should be just a no brainer deal.

Pick 52 for Brockman should be all we offer. If we are going to go arseh*le, lets do it properly

Matt Flynn via free agency

If we can go in with picks 1,19,33,38,57 and only want 4 list spots to be taken up then we can offers something up to get down into the top 25 again with pick 33,38. Id like to get down to Sydneys pick 22 and go with 1,19,22,57 with 57 being Collard

I'd rather take pick 33 for the draft. THere are massive question marks over Robertson and Brockman, and we should be able to get them much cheaper, espeically if use the PSD for Robertson.
I wanna get one more pick in that top 25.

I feel like with the 3rd pick we can probably pick up Tholstrup or the like. Feel a significant drop off occurs after pick 25ish

Hearing Sydney out of the Mackay race.

Barrass rumours to fire up again soon..........

Logan McDonald and their first otherwise they can fornicate off

Just freeing up the money to chase Grundy.

So doubt that the Barrass rumours are relit.

Another relatively low possession game from Watson, but he produced several moments of magic and had a big impact on the contest. His field kicking was a class above, and he showed his athleticism by flying spectacularly for his marks. As the game wore on, he seemed to become more interested in scrapping with his Tassie opponents than playing football.

Don't want him no matter what. Don't need him.

Long. Ryan. Brockman. Cripps. Potentially Collard.

That high a pick needed for Watson we will use on mckercher Curtin or duursma.

Maybe we could interest Sydney in one Josh Rotham

If the trade/draft turned out like this I’d be happy :

Flynn- sign as a FA. No picks required

Robertson- trade our F3 and F4 for Robertson and 55 (Brisbane will need the points in 2024 for Ashcroft)

Brockman- trade 52,55 and 57 for Brockman and 48 (Gives Hawthorn points 333 extra points to match a McCabe bid and consolidates 3 picks we don’t need into a higher pick)

Trade picks 38 and 48 to Gold Coast for pick 28 (only 90 points extra for GC but a promise not to bid on Walter could help)

That fills 3 of our 7 main list openings and gives us 1,19,28 and 33 to fill the last 4 via the draft

Pick 1 - Harley Reid (Duh)
Pick 19 - Hope there’s a slider or trade down to a pick in the low 20’s plus a late F2/early F3. Select best KPP available
Pick 28 - Luamon Lual
Pick 33 - Lance Collard

We end up with
• Balanced mid (Reid)
• Inside mid (Robertson)
• Rebounding defender (Lual)
• KPP (Zakostelsky)
• Mature ruck (Flynn)
• Pressure forward (Brockman)
• High half forward (Collard)

Good spread of positional needs - although people will have different/better alternatives at each pick

Ideally we also manage to improve our F3 to a late F2 whilst giving away our F4 (throwaway pick as highest possible is 55)

We would also have one selection (pick 1) in the rookie draft for which there’d be a number of options perhaps including Hine-Baston or Livingstone. Obviously there would be others

Edit : Zane Zakostelsky has appeal as a KPD that we could trade down from 19 for in exchange for a pick in the 20’s and a F2 for (Richmond with 25 and Essendon with 27 could be potential trade partners if they really like someone at 19)

Did I read correctly that teams can only take into the draft the number of picks that equal slots open on their list?

If yes, would Hawks getting 3 picks in the 50s be useable?
