I don't think Curtin has it in him to play midfield. Should be dominating in a game like this where he is a lot bigger then his opponents. He has a huge lack of quick burst pace for midfielder and struggles to impact.

Will be a long term development as I've always thought that from what I'm seeing. At AFL level he won't play for 3 years at a minimum before he builds enough fitness to impact and if his key defender will need to bulk up to match key forwards strength. 3 years before you see anything from him.

I'm comfortable with drafting Reid more then ever now.
I rate Curtin but Reid was bursting away from grown men in the VFL for teams he’d never played with with ruckmen he’d never roved to. Absolute no brainer.

I think he will eventually become alright player but I'm just seeing long long term in him.

He won't be playing AFL next season or probably the year after. Doesn't have the fitness for midfield at AFL level. His struggling for breath and pace at Colts level.

And defenders always take at least three years before seeing them.

3 year of dwildering is just enough time to get him back home on the cheap.

If he gets to North, he'll 100% play seniors in defence next season.

They don't have much else.

Thanks Captain.

We get 11 games at home where the other team has to travel to us. That give us a huge home ground advantage for half the games and a huge disadvantage for the half the games. Vic clubs get not much advantage and disadvantage when playing other Melbourne teams, big advantage playing interstate teams at home, big disadvantage when playing away. So that whole part evens up until it gets to the GF. And given there's only 1 stadium in the country that fits 100k people, there's not much we can do about that.

As for travel wear and tear? Sure, but did you miss the part of about 4 premierships (the second most), as well as 1x 300 game player, and potentially Darling and Gaff hit that mark too?

Sounds like you're complaining about being successful.
Why should a stadium fitting 100k mcc members be the deciding factor of who hosts a grand final?

Why should four flags and being moderately successful since inception mean we cannot be aided with benefits offered to other clubs. We might have added another 1 or 2 premierships to what has been a well run club historically.

This week old mate stickdick has written about WCE warning employees they faced the sack if they played for another club. In that article it was mentioned Alec Waterman was considering moving back to Claremont placing his off field role at West Coast in jeopardy

Now he’s writing about stalled negotiations on Jake’s contract

Not hard to work out who’s feeding him stories

If nothing else it shows a harder edge in negotiations which could be argued was overdue

That said I’d still like to see Waterman retained provided it’s no longer than a 2 year deal

Right, so you're one of those types.

moderate

adjective

/ˈmɒd(ə)rət/
  1. average in amount, intensity, quality, or degree.

We've been in the AFL for 36 years. There are 18 teams. That means a moderate amount of premierships is around the 2 mark.

We've won 4.

Shut up.

Most forwards in the AFL would wipe the floor with him. Curtin would have 10 kicked on him every week. Imagine Oscar Allen playing on Curtin. He'd have a field day.

Tall key defenders take time unlike quick small defenders like Sheezel.
If they put Curtin half back flank his pace would be a major issue with quick forwards running off him.

2025 at the very minimum. Be nuts to play him as a key back being that raw next season.

ZZ is very impressive.

O Driscoll also suring his stocks up with a late pick in the draft, speed and endurance are a rare combination.
