We all know and can mostly agree on what players need to go
We all mostly agree that a good chunk of young talent also needs to be drafted.

I'd also like us to see if we can do more like we did last year with Hunt where we bring in one or two FA with experience, they might not be there for a next flag but can take some of that burden off the kids as they come through.

Going from watching the Sheezel and Wardlaw masterclass to this Ginbey disaster class hurts

If we’re going to rebuild via WA talent only, we’re so cooked

Who knows how it will play out long term but they both really look like the have something special and particularly over the last few weeks Ginbey has really just offered tackling and not much else.

This is probably the wrong way to think about it but it really does make inclined to take Reid just to avoid the disappointment of trading down and potentially missing.

Long careers ahead of all them, I’m not basing my opinions of one or two games, this is how I’ve always felt but yeah, Ginbey is essentially a taller and more athletic Hugh Greenwood lmao

I think North Melbourne could come into the play here

Step 1. Trade pick 1 to North for 3 and 16
Step 2. Trade next year first pick to GS for picks 4 & 5
Step 3. Trade Gaff and 38. Plus pay 50% salary to St Kilda for pick 31 (they might take the punt)

Leaves us with 3,4,5,16,19,31,34 and 52 for the draft
We can get a lot more with pick 1 than 3 and 16. If that's the offer we take him. We desperately need elite talent.

We should trade gaff for any pick upgrade we can get.

We're not getting anything for Gaff. Keep him and play him at WAFL level.

How many drafts will there be before Tasmania get all the good picks, and how do we realistically go about getting multiple top 5 picks in all of them?
Realistically? I wouldn't say those odds are very high. But let's say we have #1/2 or 2-5 and another 2023 R1, We finish at the lower end but not bottom in 2024 and bank another top 10 pick. Perhaps mid-lower end in 2025 and a pick closer to 10. Then finals in 2026. Add in your second and third round picks as well. If we get a better draft hand than that we've likely underperformed. If we get a worse draft hand, we've likely overperformed and find ourselves stuck in the midtable.

That how we got into this position- get the best in the national draft. No over thinking wild cards like Brander, Chesser, Lamb etc. No trading down.

To me it’s simple, keep pick 1 and take Reid, only consider splitting for a RIDICULOUS offer that nets you at least a top 3 pick and another top 8 pick and obviously if other guys seperate themselves from the rest of the pack, don’t just split for the sake of it being a “good” deal on paper

Target the Suns 1st this season, although I think they might try and trade up.

I think ginbey would / will be amazing in a well balanced quartet of a midfield. He's the defensive mid.

We need more playmakers and inside first hands on the ball beasts.

Early days. Not easy playing in the shit show and asked to do more than a 1st year's recruit.

That's the minimum we need.

But the whole club needs a lift. It's like a funeral 24/7

Take Reid regardless last year was more appealing to split the first pick as there wasn’t really any standout players at the top 3/4 this year is a bit different the top 5/7 is a step above the rest
100% this.

You go by the year. Reid is the stand out so we draft him. Plus we are in need of an out and out superstar. Look at us. We can't keep drafting vanilla players with later picks.

Splitting picks there's a great deal of failing. After top 5 it's really just hit and miss with talent. Knowing us we probably screw it up on one pick.

I'd rather have Reid then a pick 7 and fail the second pick we get. The risk isn't worth it

"Are you willing to move to WA?"

any hesitation or fidgeting just put a line through them instantly.

You want an instant "I'll travel anywhere!"

Stop pissing around

Pathetic loser mentality. It is a national comp and a national draft.
'If we draft you, you will move to WA. No need to say it, as it is demonstrated by action - If you dont like it we will extract a very high price.'
