Read that there has been interest for Jake Waterman from Paul Peos (manager)

This is any interesting one!

Personally I rate Jake but he's been the victim of the land of the giants up forward, but doesn't have the versatility to play on a wing.

We can't go into another year of JK, JD, OA plus a resting ruckman ( most likely Williams). Can't hurt his development like Brander

In that case, do we cash in and us 35 plus Jake to get a pick in the first round?

Otherwise, maybe its best if JK retires for the good of the clubs future.

JD, OA and Jake with Rioli and Ryan. Is still a very good forward line
You would think there would be a fair bit of interest in Jake. He could easily be a full forward or CHF for some sides, or just a 3rd tall up forward for them. Hope we cash in and get a decent pick.

We basically chose Cameron over Hill.
Looked like a good decision for about a year.

We traded down 23 (which could have been used on Hill) into 27 and 32 which were used on O'Neill and Williams.

Need to see some development soon from those two to justify the decision in hindsight.

Again re Waterman, let's get Brander out the door first. The apparent lack of interest in Brander, compared to what Peos is suggesting (if true), means other clubs rate Waterman more highly than Brander. So keeping the lesser of the two while trading the better one makes no sense. Lose-lose. (And one other small factor in favour of Waterman is he's from WA. That is, it removes the 'go home' factor. And Brander will be closer to home with any non-WA team.)

So if no offers eventuate, we offer Brander to any team (e.g. GCS) that won't be a finals competitor - for any pick - just to open up another spot. (Otherwise he becomes FMcInnes v2.0.) It'd be Win (Brander) - Win (WCE) - Win (GCS).

It makes sense if we want to cash in on Waterman. Either by upgrading a pick or gaining another one.

Hmm 4 spots at the moment with Brander and Cameron still on the list.
Once Cameron's departure is official it'll be 5.
I wouldn't mind considering Brander for a rookie list spot for a year if no other club is interested.
Leaves us with 3 ND picks, 1 RD pick & 1 spot for SSP/MSD.

I'm guessing we might be looking for a more experienced ruck since both Williams & Jamieson are still developing.
Hopefully we can get one through the rookie draft or as a delisted free agent since O'Brien said we're not looking to do anymore trading.

If we could get something of significant value for Jake, I’d give it a look, can’t be too sentimental with it. But he’s best 25 in my mind, with a good chance at climbing both with development and JK’s departure.

If someone was wild enough to include a first round pick, you’d have to get involved, even if it meant sending a lower pick (and Jake) back.

not up to WAFL standard, so are you thinking ammos?:)

he is however a much better depth player than Brander so we may get an offer.

few people need to low key relax, no one is giving a first round draft pick for jake waterman! Next person suggesting this needs a 1 day ban

67 goals in 26 WAFL games (including stretches down back) suggests he is, at the very least, WAFL standard.

16 touches, 8.5 marks, 2.5 goals per game.

Great to still have famishedfeline around.
Not up to WAFL standard but supposedly averaged 16 touches, 8.5 marks and 2.5 goals per game this season.
Played four WAFL games this year. One of them was 29 and four goals against the Premiers. Imagine how good he’d be when he reaches the standard!
