Sharp is soft as butter. Has talent but a footy heart smaller than Jack Watts. Skills, running power but in trying to get himself out of a wet paper bag would end up black and blue. Almost zero contested side to his game. He's makes gaff on the inside look like Libba.
Id heard that about sharp too, but i watched a gc game(cant remember which one) and kept an eye on him. He seemed to get in there for the hard ball that game. Besides if we have culley, possibly warlord, chesser is going to be a player who'll definitely be able to play inside, we'll need some running power on the outside too. Shame we fluffed that indigenous boy who ended up at the bulldogs

Sharp if at a low cost is a low risk, high reward option. In the right team, at the right sized ground etc he could be a very effective player IMO. I'd suggest he would fit into our rebuild criteria nicely.

But only at limited cost. The Sun need cap space help free to give us a 2nd to take him and his salary off your hands. ;)

What’s Sharp’s contract status?
I would be interested to get that campaigner..

I find people on here obsess about certain players in their draft year, then keep obsessing about them through their career regardless of their form/output. We need to stop taking other clubs trash. 1 or 2 players is fine but outside of that go to the draft.

I've watched him quite a lot too and while he has been better at going at the man and the ball he has one of the lowest contested possession rates for a mid ever. On top of this he is very much even now a one way runner. We do need outside run and carry but TBH while Chesser may move inside eventually a wing role is likely to be his first stop. Quality ball use, two way running and much better at the man. It will however be very interesting to see if and how he develops due to the huge amount of time out of the game.

Definitely wasn’t directed at you.

Just quoted you to point out how a bad trade like this isn’t really noticed anywhere where-as on here it would have resulted in riots.
It was pretty heavily criticised across BF and the media (except by Twomey, who kinda defended it), and the GC board where some tried to defend the trade.

Same old shit week in week out. 10goal+ drubbings. No excuses, the coach presiding over this has to go at season's end. This is one of the worst teams ever, but we have plenty of experienced and credentialed players

While I'm open to Robertson and Bruhn at the right price, the time to do this is when we hit the top 8 and heading towards a flag tilt. More Stenglein, Redden, and Chick than Prior, Collica, Taylor and Merenda. We just have to hit the draft and only go for an expat if they offer a good potential upside.

We have a good stock of C- players and a few C+ and B grade. The A's win the games and we dont have any on this years form which is all that counts.

Another pre-emptive melt - I really hope we dont forego our second pick just to allow Cole to play a couple of games near the end of the year.
I don't even know why we aren't giving natanui the rest of the year off.

No point him 0laying 5 games at the end of the year

It's all about the right price.

As a team we should be as aware as any that the price changes depending on where you are on the ladder (teams don't play hard ball as much with bottom clubs, a little due to the PSD threat also).

I'd hope our first 2 picks are straight off the table (for players, potentially to split an early pick or definitely if we can upgrade 19/20 into a early/mid teens pick). So any player trades would centre around Ports 2nd (28-30 ish) or our 3rd (37/38).

Yes good players can be picked at that level (watching Warner play right now, and he was #39), but we have had a heap of picks around that level and tend to get c graders at best, so happy to trade for an almost certain c grader with b grade or better potential.

I don't care what we have to do, but we need to draft Reuben Ginbey.

Been watching juniors for a long time, and this is a kid that wont be first picked but will end up close to best player in this draft.
Very similar to Carltons Cripps in his draft.

When he plays half back he is very very good one on one, is strong tough and always tackles.
he is lightning quick and a good kick of the footy

He goes into the middle and he has that power burst no one can stop.

Just love this kid get Beau Waters vibes from him oozes leadership players walk taller around him.

If we can get him with our second pick it would be a bargain.

I would seriously consider trading Nicnat to a team who needs a ruck for a couple of top end draft picks

He's an UFA, another club could pick him up for free.

No one is paying multiple high end picks for a 33 year old either

Moot point anyway, doubt he wants to leave

Is he in this year's draft?

Your not gonna get that for an unfit 32 year old turning 33 next year ruckman with bung knees who plays under 70% game time and cant play anywhere else…

Lucky to get one late 2nd..
