I think Busslinger will go very early personally

So do I. At Adelaide’s pick 4 that GC will own.

we can talk to gws assuming they get their comp from their flock fleeing
Will be interesting to see who’s picks they end up with.

Collingwood said to be in to Taranto and Hill. But Collingwood’s current picks aren’t getting that done. Maybe a current and future first for both players. Unless Collingwood end up with something half decent from the Grundy fire sale.

Richmond in to Hopper (so to are Lions fans). Richmond’s first gets that done.

GWS need a KPF more than anything. Maybe even two. Possibly a small forward. I’m not sure what else. Maybe another rebound defender.

I'd be happy taking Phillipou with our 1st. I like the fact that he can play forward as well as midfield and seems extremely good at both.

Pick 2 - Phillipou

It even rhymes.
I'm with you. Having watched the first quarter highlights of SA v Vic Country before he got injured i'm 100% on board with Phillipou.

I haven't seen any of Warlord, but from the descriptions of him as a player i think it's easier to find someone who can give you 80% of what he can give you compared to finding someone who can give you 80% of what Phillipou could give you.

We need to swing for the fences.

Rioli most likely staying.

Hurn on the other hand looks a 50/50

If hurn goes and it means we give witherden another contract i'll crack the shits.
As I've said before, I've lost money on in game multi's featuring West Coast, but betting on the oppositions small forwards to kick goals has never been the reason my bets haven't fallen over. I thank Witho for his service.

We have missed Cole badly.

If we draft Phillapousis with our first, it'd be prudent to also use our next pick on another 'less speculative' mid.
I think that’s the general thought process of pro Phillipou supporters.

Pick 2 swing for the fences, go for the potential A+ game changing mid. Pick 20 you’ll have a range of solid “vanilla” B+ types to choose from.

As the trade period is before the draft, I think if we did get Deven Robertson that would shape our draft preferences.

Eagles recruiting team will consider a few things;

  • With recent draft acquisitions of Culley, Hough and Chesser (god I hope he's ok) added with Dev that we have built a nice young core midfield group
  • Culley and Dev added a very good contested game, so do we really need a Wardlaw and go for a more balanced midfielder
  • With our first do we look at a key forward like Cadman that has been suggested rather than a mid

Phillipou would be more likely then an outside mid or tall with our second

Would rather we didn't go speculative with our first decent pick in forever.
Don't think he's speculative. The highlights below of the first quarter (before he hurt his back) are enough for me. Terrible conditions he is so clean. Besides the first kick which was shocking, he has good kicking skills.

Is a late December birthday, so one of the youngest in the draft.

I am hoping that we are putting in the work on Cadman for GWS to want to trade up. They will likely have their and Richmond and … first rounders so loads to trade up.

In terms of mids, we need the very best balanced mid with a high ceiling. Hough looks good but looks mainly outside. Culley as the tough tackling inside mid (though he can also go forward). I like the concept of Chesser but this is now 3 years in a row with no or minimal football so I would not count on him yet.

Our problem is not converting the inside 50’s. It is getting it inside 50 and keeping it in.

Hough and Chesser are far from guaranteed to end up midfielders. I'd say there's a more than 50% chance that one or both end up in defence or wing. We need 2 elite mids. I'm pretty sure than neither Chesser nor Hoff will be able to match it with Oliver, Brayshaw, Walsh etc. That's what we need and I believe that is what the club is looking for. I doubt the club will spend a top 2 pick on a player widely rated in the 10 - 15 range.

briztoon was the strong rumour on your board about Dev leaving to anywhere in particular? Or just he's gone?
Just that he’s likely gone.

And just further discussion on our board, if we do trade in a quality mid this trade period, hard not to see Dev leaving.

Both Ashcroft boys would be ahead of him the day they are drafted (two years apart), plus adding an in their prime mid.

According to afl.com.au the Lions are into Dunkley.

"Hey Dev, we don't rate you".

If he had already told them he's gone, surely the media would have wind of it by now?

You'd imagine Dunkley is being looked at to replace Lyons who seems to have been passed over.

Either way hope that means Dev is coming home. Would like him and Sharp at low cost/late picks if possible.
