WC's past actions don't fill me with much confidence regarding the MSD.
Bringing in injury prone Tom Joyce to replace players on the LTI was a perplexing decision, who then ended up out for most of the season.

That was a ridiculous move by Wce so maybe now our next 2 picks will be guns or gunna’s ..

I'm happy with the risk as well. I only saw one of his games last year playing as a mid sized forward and he showed some AFL attributes and I agree with all of your above points. I agree with all your points above and have seen him twice this year. The only thing being is with his size and weight he seems a lot more physically advanced than those he's playing against. His key features for me are his booming long kick, agility and marking. His on ball game is good but not amazing (it's a 50/50 for me as is it due to his relative lack of experience in there or is he more dominant due to size and weight) and he is also coming from a little further back than some of the guys in last years draft.

Statistically I'd also be inclined to remove Derksen's game but just call it a hunch from the last few years, the players we've trialled and overagers we've looked into and picked have had good games against our reserves in more than 1 case. The other thing being if we are going to discount Derksen's game against the Beagles I'd really have to discount his game against Vic Metro. That was one of his two games i've seen this year and it was missing it's 3 best mids as well as a few other APS boys.

I've seen derksen play twice this year. He has good hands, is a good height and a very good athletic profile. His kicking is good without being great. I also feel his marking and goal numbers would be better if he wasn't chopping out in the ruck at times. He does turn 21 in June. I missed his game on the weekend as I was over watching the Academy side Vs Collingwood VFL in Frankston (duck i hate Frankston)

The only other thing with Culley is nominating an 18 month contract may put west coast off. I'd suggest any other midfield names outside of Florenca are back ups in case he is taken before our second.

So you know as a prospect I do rate Culley ahead of Derksen. I just get the feeling west coast are going to go one of two ways about this. We are either going to pick up Derksen (there are a couple of other talls but he's the one most likely to fit the bill) with our first and then Florenca with our second / Whomever we rate as the best senior mid going around if Florenca is taken.

Or in typical West Coast style we take Florenca with our first and then it's more of a project tall with our second. It's not that I don't want Culley, it's just I would be shocked for West Coast to make that decision.
Yep, we 100% won't take Culley! So I need to adjust my expectation on that. I actually think the Bombers will get him, Norf seem to be into D'Ambrosio (who I also really really rate, but not a need for WCE). Could the Bombers get two we let slip? Culley and Martin, that will cause some massive offended on here.

If we take Florenca with our first that's just ridiculous.

I agree on Culley size meaning it's helped him be dominant too date against smaller bodies, but that's one of the bits I like about him. I think his body is AFL ready and in the AFL system he'll only get stronger, quicker and could be anything. 193cm big body that can play as a mid with some great attributes is worth the punt IMO, but we won't take him.

Nothing against Derksen, but I just don't feel we need any more talls. Unless they plan to get ride of a heap at seasons end, but surely it's premature to make calls on players this early.

By the way, What is the NAB League? Is it the equivalent of the WAFL Colts? How is it compared to the WAFL League?
Why Culley is not playing in the VFL?
Nab League is equivalent to WAFL Colts just a stronger competition. This year it has taken in the northern academy clubs as well. You can play aged 17-19 so there are a few that missed out on last years draft running around as well as the best from next years draft.
The WAFL colts are run by their respective clubs so players can be pushed up the tiers to reserve and league level during the season, alternately theres not quite so closse of an alignment in vic and i'm not sure but I think the VFL clubs have a lot more rules in place.

Wouldn't mind hearing from BOND 007 if he thinks Culley is even a remote possibility. As long as you campaigners don't sook at him the second he starts posting here again

Yes. Some posters made total dicks of themselves trolling Bond last time.

And what happened. Stops posting.

Well done. Now you can play smart arses amongst yourselves.

Given he’s put his hand up for a 18 month contract there’s really no reason not to pick Culley if we can. The only hesitation for me was if we had him for 6 months and he expressed a desire to stay in Melbourne. An extra year gives us plenty of time to convince him to stay on if he plays well.

Or we trade him. If allowed.

Seems an archaic perspective but I wonder what Simmo would make of Culley’s dreadlocks?

Particularly on the back of what JK was talking about on Schoey’s Backchat pod about Simmo wanting “clean cut” players when he came to the club so Masten and Schofield both got rid of the hipster beards but JK went “fcuk that” and kept his.

Not very clever or supportive of diversity is Simo if that is true.

We certainly dont have as many tats on players as much as other clubs do.

And on diversity when will we draft a kid with African heritage? We tried Orlando as a rookie ruck but he edit got a suspended sentence after breaking someone's jaw just before getting drafted.

Olango spent the whole of 2018 with us, was delisted after a year and then spent the next year with East Perth. He didn’t go to jail, he got a suspended sentence.

We also had Tarir Bayok on our list for two years around the same time.

Bond 007 is just GoEaglesGoSGIO's alt account but with less apologies.

Chalk and cheese.

Bond could well have inside info. I haven’t seen anything suggesting he doesn’t.

That other bloke was clearly just making shit up.
