Wright to the bombers for a 4th rounder according to Tom Browne. Maybe players are rated less these days?

Wright apparently has a 500K contract.

He's not very good either - for a player who is 203cm tall he gives very little presence up forward. Just once in the last 3 years has he kicked more than 2 goals in a game. He's what Vardy would be if you decided not to play him as a ruckman.

Gold Coast are looking to salary dump on players that are not going to take a first team place as they want to ensure they have ample room to re-sign their developing talent in the coming years without any uncertainty from whatever the AFL decides to do with shrinking the salary cap.

They also have over 50 players in their current list and are struggling to cut that down to the size that the AFL will allow them in 2021.

Suns want cap space and need to free list spots - Wright offers them both without weakening them on-field, hence the low valuation as they just want someone else to take him off their books, anything further to them is seen as a bonus.

So I'm trying an Obeanie1 mega trade

▪︎Wce out future 1st + pick 34 ( 542 ) + hickey
▪︎WCE In 14 (1160) + future 2nd (dogs) + one of powell/sharpe (GC)

▪︎Gold coast out one of powell/sharpe + 27 (703) 37 ( 483 )
▪︎Gold coast In future 1st ( wce )

▪︎Dogs out 14 (1120) + future 2nd + 54 ( 220)
▪︎Dogs In 25 ( 752 ) + 27 (703) + 34 ( 542) + 37 ( 483)

▪︎Sydney out 25 (752)
▪︎Sydney In 54 ( 220 )+ hickey

Don't know if I've funked up any picks but seems like most would profit.

Sydney get hickey for approx pick 36-37

Dogs get 400+ extra points increase on their picks for Ugle-Hagen

Gold Coast get a future 1st for a player and two 2nd rounders they apparently not using + cap relief.

Wce get a borderline best 22 player , move our first from 2021 to this year and our 2nd this year to 2021

I can't fathom why brisbane would be letting witherden go... they're going full-freo on this swap.
Brisbane has a ridiculous amount of good/promising young talent. Would be hard to get a game. Noah Answerth is another name I’d have expected thrown around this year - couldn’t break into best 22 this year. (Played 1-3 games?)

Wish we could reunite the Ah Chees for (another) young Brisbane steal. (Another, hoping we get Witherden).

We need to pull a rabbit out of the hat in this draft and use our later picks on a player in the Ryan Riolli mould. A creative half forward with flair and dare. An instinctive natural
Ira jetta?
There was talk about a rellie of ryan as well

Mitch Cleary on his AFL.com.au video says the Eagles are expecting a decent deal on Hickey from Sydney. They have offered a contracted player 3 years and will make him first ruck next year. West coast want to be fairly compensated for this.
So.. DGB or Logan McDonald at pick 3?

Duffield is reporting in The West that Witherden hasn't actually committed to the move yet.

- He would be taking less money playing for West Coast than what he is currently guaranteed at Brisbane (might explain Lions chipping in)\
- He would likely get more opportunity at West Coast next year, but if Birchall finishes up in 2021, he may get opportunities there too.
- If Witherden agrees it will be an easy trade for a 3rd rounder.

Should Witherden agree the deal will go though quickly , doesn't bode well sounds like Brisbane need to move a player on .

Should be asking a sneaky question about Devin for sure. No idea what his value is but if we got 25 for Hickey would that do it if they were still tight for spots and cap? Hickey and a 3rd rounder for Robertson and Witherden sounds unbelievable
