How long until you buy back those shares? Market will be in free fall for a while longer yet - going to be some bargain shares soon enough.

I can't see the hump in this situation yet, so have no idea when I'll buy back in. I think you're spot on though. There will be value aplenty for long-term investors when things turn and while I hope I can move faster than Mr Market when the recovery comes, I'm under no illusions I'll be able to buy back in at the bottom. I'll just be happy with small margins and protecting what I've got at this point.

Yeah i didnt sell any shares but probably should have. In the end ill probably buy more of the shares i have now when the price is quite low. They'll be back up to 'normal' value in no-time

Has the end of the world happened yet, this week alone i shook my mechanics hand for fixing my car, i went out for dinner and interacted with people from a number of different nationalities, i passed people in the street, i saw elderly people going about their daily business, the local shopping centre was swarming with people last weekend and that's just a small example and i am still fine.

Massive overreaction to what is just another illness just like all the other illness' in the world that do infect and do kill people.

People are acting like this is the first time in history an illness has happened.

39 cases in OZ, FMD that many people will run through my local doctors in the next few hours sick with something or other but there won't be any mass hysteria about that now will there.

If you're invested in quality companies, I don't think there will be any long term loss. Markets too focused on the next earnings report IMO and often miss the bigger picture. I'm sure they'll bounce back at some point and probably reach new highs until the next debt crisis rolls around. Still, I think being an early mover in the flight to quality is a better position to be in.

These mortality rates that are being bandied around of 2-3%, that is on the proviso that everyone who has had the disease has been diagnosed as having it. I would imagine there are thousands more that showed little signs and didn’t get tested. Indonesia supposedly had their first cases last week. So if tens of thousands more have contracted the disease than has been reported you’d expect the actual mortality rate to be much lower than 2-3% wouldn’t you?

Can only imagine the hysteria when people start coming down with a cold and sneeze on a train in the middle of winter.

It may not seem like a lot but 0.2% is still a massive number for the 10 to 49 bracket, especially compared to the normal flu.

Sure but I suspect the majority are already people with severe respiratory issues. This was also in China, and I would imagine the Australian health system is far better prepared to manage it..

They do mention people with respiratory issues quite often, I don't really see how severe the respiratory issues need to be though, what about people with asthma, some medicos are saying asthma is not a heightened concern, others are saying that the jury is still out.

Sorry not going to pretend to be an expert and bluff that i know what i am talking about.. No idea how severe the repository issues need to be to cause death.

hmm, I suspect I'll still be able to get most of it in the dunny or is an unpublished symptom of this disease squatting in your own lounge room?...

best to have a couple of rolls tucked down the side of your lounge suite, a few for the car, one or two for the handbag or suitcase.
Mass diarrhea caused by mass hysteria, we need every one of those 32 rolls for when we all begin inexplicable shitting on the furniture.

This s#$% just got real. Just "evacuated" in 1.2 seconds and then needed 3 flushes to deal with the after shocks.

Don't think it was Cov-19 though, last nights curry was a tad 'spicy'!:poo::$:drunk:

The world gets dumber every second - although the past week that as increased exponentially

It must be a girl thing. My neighbor's wife two days ago was worried about toilet paper shortages and today two of the women here at work were discussing toilet paper as well.

Us blokes are starting to think about stocking up on beer and spirits. You know when there's a cyclone warning in Darwin, all the blokes pushing trolley's out of the supermarkets stacked high with piss and packets of chips.

Or diabetes, cancer or any other immune disorder.

Either way, what makes these people matter less? "Healthy" people being complacent about spreading the virus could really put these vulnerable people at risk.
