In Don's words total football is the 3 phases of football

1. Contested ball
2. Ball movement
3. Team defence

What's to be good at all components

or in the immortal words of Kevin "Cowboy" Neale:

1. when nobody's got it
2. when we've got it
3. when they've got it

the more footy changes, the more it stays the same.

Last weekend it was Port poster JimmyBeerCans biting back at everything any Crows supporter said on here, along the usual lines of "nyah nyah Port's good Crows suck"

I jokingly said "looks like JimmyBeerCans is on spotfire duty this afternoon!"

Today it's ImportExport

Seriously are you blokes on a roster or something?:D

Happy and sad day yesterday. It's a mighty tough job he's got ahead of him considering he'll be the 4th senior coach the players have had in 18 months.

They only just learnt a whole new game plan and approach under Walshy, can't afford to move too drastically away otherwise their brains will be fried I think.

2016 is going to be very interesting how the playing group responds. Haven't listened to the whole presser yet but so far everything is pleasing.

At the start of the presser youtube video, did seem like a small turnout? Not a whole lot of journos or staff there for arguably the highest position in SA sport being filled.

It's Adelaide though. 1 paper and 3 sport-covering ratio stations.

We only have a handful of journos and that's including wastes of space like Rucci and Rehn.

we can do a roster if you like?

Good point.

The point just above - previously the Crows have had absolutely zero understanding (or willing to take on) this concept. I only hope and pray with Fagan at the helm and 'Roo in the mix - this attitude has changed, where they realise every year you take the field is not a Grand Final year. Need to rebuild.

That I agree with. Which is why I thought Walsh's view of developing a squad with 2017 in mind was refreshing.

I know you like to believe that but that never entered my mind. I was talking about his persona during his interviews. He had authority in his voice. Whilst I am sure that Walshy was good for Port Adelaide it wasn't the only club that he learnt his trade from.

Sorry

Stop taunting him. He can't respond

Just got around to watching the presser. Does anyone else think Fages is looking run-down? It's been a massive 12 months for him. Probably due for a little holiday at some stage after the trade period. Somewhere other than Brisbane...

I thought Pyke spoke in a calm and intelligent manner, are some seriously bagging that interview?

Felt he handled it well.

As I said on the Fagan thread, I think Pyke will be quite systematic and organised in his coaching/gameplan. Can't see that there will be too many catch phrases or buzz words.

Can see the media (mainly Rooch) getting frustrated with Pykes pressers. I like it.
