Overall we've been really good. I didn't think we were capable of playing this well. Obviously it's only the first half but it's the first time since 2017 that I've believed we are contenders.

firstly...what a game! Whatever happens tonight our first half was very good. Geelong got the run on in the later half of the second but we held firm when in past years we would have packed up and headed home. Very impressed with Davis. Looks like he's getting the feel of the game quickly.

Dangerfield. I know we give him shit but he hit the ground hard there. That hurt him. That was not one of his "free kicks" moments.

Looking forward to seeing what Pyke can do during the break. I think they threw everything they could possibly throw at us in that quarter and we did very well.

Bring on the second half!

To be fair to this comment, pressure act is a much better stat then a tackle as that is anytime you've impeded the ball carrier, instead of forced a stoppage.

Douglas looks done, but can't fault the effort.

Their mids have better tanks than ours and are quicker. It's good we are still in this as the Cats are a quality side. Precise in their ball movement and rarely miss a target. Gibbs should be shot for not laying a hand on that last ball to Hawkins. Kelly is damaging us big time. They dominated the last half of that quarter. Wonder if we'll spring back in the last half or roll over?
Whatever happens, out Gibbs and Douggy for the Showdown. Douglas has been a good player for us, but I think he's yesterday's man.

Douglas looks elderly out there. Other than the old throwaway line of "experience", I'm lost as to what he actually brings to the side.

Apparently he is great in the rooms after a game and is good company on the plane flight there and back

Put it this way, if we play them come finals at the MCG we’ve got them covered if we bring our best

Get a few key players back and play this way in September and we can be very dangerous.

It's also if you "chase" someone, regardless if you get terribly close.

Unpopular opinion, but the kind of rubbish that Gibbs is serving up tonight is why I prefer players like Mackay. At least he'd be making an effort.

Surely impeding could mean slowing down the player or making them go backwards or over you?

Yep, trying hard but you can really tell the game has gone past him. Everything is rushed and in a panic.

Consistently losing your feet is a sign that the games has gone past you physically. It's too quick for him now.

He's had a month now since returning and isn't showing signs of shedding the 'rust' which means it isn't rust.
