I didn't think Melbourne were going great, but really only the Freo loss was particularly poor. I think we'll be exposed over the big deck, especially with Sloane and Crouch as 2 of our 4 mids.

Their midfield is pretty good. Even without Oliver .

We have the worst midfield in the league today. Heavy CBA rotations for Sloane/Crouch/Keays.

Unfortunately not all handballs are equal. Some players put players in space and an advantage position, our older mids are expert at just hot potatoing the ball to someone under as much pressure as they are. Combined with the indiscriminate hack kick forward it's no wonder our midfield delivers so little compared to opposition despite similar quantity stats.

Hamish didn't select crouch and Sloane or drop Sog. Swap those crabs for Hately and Schoey and then run a few other guys through there like Jones, Rankine and Ned and the mix looks much better and we learn a bit too.

Well Hately and Nankervis are the two extras so its one of them. Murphy and Hiummelberg to SANFL.

I like the role Jones is playing now. Still think he is straight line player. No shame in being a very good winger and he is doing some stoppage work around the ground.


Ned, too fumbly and erratic.



Pick 5 on Rankine with a guy like Phillipou available...... Should have done better there to get both of them.
