GOOD:
CC. Oh My God. The game we've been waiting for.
Matt. Brad. They stand up when it is counted
Rorys All 3. Love you.
Eddie. Class
Talia. Hawkins will never have in his life been as clean as he was at the end of that game given the total bath Talia gave him.
Seeds. The knock on him was he was a bit soft. Well nope. IN the first half he was desperate for the ball. and responded well after the poor miss.
Lynch. Really should have been All Australian. No one does what he does as well as he does it.
DMack - Again did what we want him to do. Love it
The move of Danger starting at full-forward. ROFLol. Yeah give our midfield a help. Thanks mate. We'll take it.
Pyke. Masterclass of coaching

Too wired and tired to think of anything Bad or ugly.

1) Charlie, where has that been, unbelievable

2) Mackay, that's what we've wanted for your whole career, well done for bringing it for the second half of this year
This.
1) CC turned it on --- those two marks!!! :thumbsu::thumbsu: those goals!!! --- his general intensity was fantastic. Proved me wrong bigtime and totally justified the faith Pyke has shown in him.
2) Yes, and Douglas too.

Can't wait for Chris Scott to roll out the excuses.

"I think the result would be different if the game was at Simonds"

"Selwood only got 6 free kicks? I thought there was this one specific moment he wasn't awarded a free kick that determined the entire result"

"I'm sure the MRP will look at the Sloane incident. From what I saw, it definitely needs to be looked at. Did you see Dangerfield on the ground?"

"The home crowd had a big say in the outcome. They booed us and our players didn't cope"
ALL sound like typical Scott, I agree.
Then I watched his presser.
He was actually very gracious and praised the Crows generously. He can still get stuffed.

AFL.com ratings

Rory Atkins – 6
Reasonable but nothing outstanding. Can offer a bit of X-factor and will look to improve in the Grand Final. Gained 514m with his 22 disposals.

Eddie Betts – 7
Set the tone early when he showed more desperation to win the ground ball against Tom Stewart, before handballing to Charlie Cameron for a goal within the first minute. Kicked another himself moments later before converting a great snap from the pocket.

Luke Brown – 6
Took the kick-in duties with Brodie Smith out injured after the qualifying final. Did his role once again, as he always does.

Charlie Cameron – 9
His clean hands proved important on several occasions, such as when he collected the footy before booting a thrilling goal on the run from 60m. His huge speccy in the third term was unreal. Finished with five goals.

Brad Crouch – 7
Received some attention from Scott Selwood but was an important part of a midfield that played so well. Picked up 29 disposals and 17 contested possessions.

Matt Crouch – 8
Typically tough in the clinches, despite Mark Blicavs shadowing him early. Another excellent game, with 31 disposals, 16 contested possessions and a goal.

Richard Douglas – 6
Rarely plays a bad game and this was no exception. His pressure often goes unnoticed but it would be highly rated within the club.

Hugh Greenwood – 3
Quiet, didn't have much impact. Just six disposals in 59 per cent of game time.

Kyle Hartigan – 6
Unassuming defender who once again did his job.

Sam Jacobs – 6
Took a ripping pack mark for his side's third goal, and had the better of Zac Smith in the ruck duel.

Josh Jenkins – 4
Not a huge contributor when it counted after being blanketed early by Harry Taylor. Kicked three goals in the last quarter when the result was all but decided.

Jake Kelly – 6
Spent time on Daniel Menzel and shut him out of the game.

Riley Knight – 4
Given the job on Joel Selwood and crunched the Cats captain whenever he had the opportunity, but the Crow lost the duel.

Rory Laird – 8
So good once again. Racked up a team-high 32 disposals in his 100th match and had plenty of influence in the first half, when the game was alive.

Jake Lever – 5
Has set a high standard for himself this season and was not quite up to that level. Did his best to float across and impact contests when he could.

Tom Lynch – 8
Played the link man role to perfection. The Cats couldn't stop Lynch doing what he does. Notched up 20 disposals and two goals and an equal team-high 10 score involvements. Superb early.

David Mackay – 5
Did his role, no more or less. Finished with 18 disposals.

Andy Otten – 4
Lined up forward in his first game since round 19 but was quiet. Didn't do enough to keep his spot in the team if Mitch McGovern overcomes his hamstring concern for the Grand Final.

Paul Seedsman – 7
Who tipped the former Magpie could be that important in a preliminary final? Kicked a couple of goals among his 19 disposals.

Rory Sloane – 8
Playing his first match in almost a month after having his appendix taken out, the contested bull was big. His crunching hit on Patrick Dangerfield late in the second term was a massive collision. Had 20 disposals and 12 contested possessions, but did his best work early.

Daniel Talia – 8
Took Tom Hawkins completely out of the game. So reliable.

Taylor Walker – 4
Didn't have a big game but wasn't really needed. Booted his two goals in the final term, including a ripping snap from the boundary.

Has the Dangerfield/Sloane collision been gif'ed yet?

So many goods I can't name them all:
- Charlie September turning it on
- I meant to post this during the day but forgot. I put up the youtube highlights of our finals win over Geelong in '97. Our first goal in that game after the Cats burst out of the blocks was big Shaun Rehn. Clunked a contested grab and slotted it. I watched that today and thought how good to have a ruckman who could push forward and do that in a final? Hey presto... Sauce delivers.
- Some of Talia's one on one stuff
- Our smothers. How many were there?! It was like playing against a team of VBs
- Our goal kicking. Poetry.

That's for starters. Will name the other 114 goods tomorrow.

The SEN ratings. Clearly written by a dickhead:

Rory ATKINS – 7 So outside was the game even he joined in for 22 disposals and five inside-50s. Huge in linking team.
Eddie BETTS – 5 Was shut down by Bews for most part but had to kick a couple of goals given weight of ball.
Luke BROWN – 5 Dour defender did what the coach asked and was able to nullify the Cats’ forwards.
Charlie CAMERON – 9 Huge effort. Took a screamer and jagged five goals. Sheeesh.
Brad CROUCH – 8 Massive first half netted 15 touches and kept it going to end with 29 and eight clearances.
Matt CROUCH – 8 Busier than a set of jumper leads at a country funeral for 31 disposals, six clearances and five tackles.
Richard DOUGLAS – 6 Chipped in for 19 touches and four tackles. Supported star cast brilliantly.
Hugh GREENWOOD – 1 A Yeti was seen more than him. Four effective touches and gave zilch.
Kyle HARTIGAN – 4 Got the Hymie from Get Smart look going but played it well. Did his job.
Sam JACOBS – 7 Dominant display by the bloke who has some serious good footy left in him. Set tempo early.
Josh JENKINS – 7 Chimed in to kick four goals and was always dangerous inside forward 50.
Jake KELLY – 6 Young defender did all the right things throughout and was a handy contributor.
Riley KNIGHT – 5 Spare parts midfielder did what he could with 14 disposals. Handy throughout.
Rory LAIRD – 9 Oompa loompa down back was a willing worker who poured a lot into the chocolate river.
Jake LEVER – 6 Played a key role down back; 14 of his 15 possessions hit the target.
Tom LYNCH – 7 Can’t miss him with that hair but Cats seemed to all night as he racked up 20 touches and two goals.
David MACKAY – 6 When he plays well its is usually bad for the opposition because he jumps on board the bandwagon; 18 touches.
Andy OTTEN – 4 Played his role without getting too aroused by his effort; 13 disposals and one goal.
Paul SEEDSMAN – 7 Couldn’t get into the team for most of year but got in and played like a star; 19 disposals and two goals.
Rory SLOANE – 6 Solid without starring for 20 disposals and three inside-50s. Eight clearances and six score involvements.
Daniel TALIA – 8 Dour as a draught horse but did a number of Hawkins who had held comprehensively.
Taylor WALKER – 6 Skipper got mobile for two goals, five inside-50s and 10 score involvements.

Fox Ratings.

ADELAIDE

Brad Crouch — 7

Was typically busy in the midfield. Helped the Crows gain the ascendancy in the midfield in the first half.

Riley Knight — 6

Went straight to Joel Selwood and tried to get under his skin. Did his job when the game was there to be won.

Josh Jenkins — 7

Started pretty slowly, but was a constant presence and looked dangerous running back to goal. Kicked a couple of sealers late in the match.

Jake Lever — 6

Tried to zone off and intercept as much as possible. Might have been frustrated by the fact not much stuck, but never gave up as the night progressed.

Jake Kelly — 6

Started on Menzel, but also tried to get loose and intercept. He’s been a find for the Crows this year.

Rory Sloane — 9

He had the crowd on their feet when he laid out Dangerfield with a clean bump. It highlighted the way he assert himself physically throughout. Started quietly around the ground, but slowly grew into the contest and began influencing things on the inside as the game wore on. Was among Adelaide’s best. Immense.

Paul Seedsman — 8

Broke the game open in the second quarter. Won plenty of it and looked dangerous on the spread. Kicked a couple of goals to give Adelaide a buffer. He was a wildcard in this finals series and he’s proving important.

Daniel Talia — 9

Arguably the side’s most important asset in defence. Played on Hawkins and kept him incredibly quiet. Wore him like a glove and effected every contest. Showed why he’s perhaps the best lockdown defender in the competition.

Taylor Walker — 7

Worked hard up the ground, but never managed to isolate his opponent deep inside 50. His coach will be rapt with his selflessness. Got his rewards late.

David Mackay — 6

Played across half-back and showed some great composure early. A reliable figure who did his job on the night.

Kyle Hartigan — 7

Had the job on Dangerfield at full back. Wasn’t afraid to zone off and push higher up the ground. Spent periods on Hawkins and did well.

Luke Brown — 6

Put his body on the line in a couple of brave contests down back. Another who does his job with minimal fuss every week.

Eddie Betts — 8

He is unreal. Influential early. Set up the first, kicked the second. He always looks in the game, regardless of where he is. It’s why he’s one of the best in the league.

Hugh Greenwood — 5

Endured a bit of an indifferent night. He spent periods both forward and running through the midfield, but never really got going.

Rory Atkins — 7

Busy early in and around the contest. Among Adelaide’s best when it mattered, winning plenty of it and using it pretty effectively. A solid night.

Andy Otten — 5

Came into the side after two months out of it and looked pretty rusty. Led hard and took a man. He did his job.

Charlie Cameron — 9

Kicked the first and had the crowd buzzing. Looked a constant threat inside 50 and did the damage on the scoreboard. Was one of the side’s most influential.

Sam Jacobs — 7

Looked the more likely of the big men to make something happen around the ground. His work in the ruck was important.

Richard Douglas — 7

Grew into the game in the second term and always looked a threat forward of centre. Had stints in the midfield and did his job well.

Tom Lynch — 7

Kicked two important goals early and constantly presented high up the field. There’s a reason he’s among the most highly rated players at Adelaide.

Rory Laird — 8

Won plenty of it early and looked influential behind the ball. Broke the lines when he needed to and always used it effectively. He’s a quality player.

Matt Crouch — 8

Continued what has been a fine season. Kicked a clutch goal in the third term to all but put the contest to bed. Always looked dangerous in and around the contest. What a year he’s having.

Riley Knight – 4
Given the job on Joel Selwood and crunched the Cats captain whenever he had the opportunity, but the Crow lost the duel.
Don't think he judged that one right lol. Knight looked dangerous while stopping one of their main ball winners. I think that deserves more than a 4.

Game Plan was obvious .... in 1st quarter - if danger is forward - play out your skins to keep the ball up our end so we can get a couple early - the rest of the game will take care of itself!
