As for the ground issue, are you aware of the drought? As has been mentioned on this thread in the past, OW's ground is not up to scratch. Therefore another ground had to be sourced. The best ground we could find is one that is small but green and will be getting recycled water on it throughout the year. Not ideal, but we are playing footy in 2007 and are happy with that. I'm sure there are other teams in worse situations than us. Why is that pathetic? Also, you speak as if there have been other bad decsions made by the club recently - what are these?

Please don't ignore this post, I would like a reply. If you publicly bag our club for reasons that on the surface appear out of our control you should be able to justify it.

Your credibility is on the line.

Credibility on the line??? THERE IS NO CREDIBILITY ON THIS WHOLE SITE!!! And how can you get up me for one comment, when all you blokes do is spin S**T on this.

Word on the street is there are a number of players who are not at all impressed with this EXCUSE for a footy ground. I have had a drive down myself, and to say that this is a footy ground ...... well you tell me old timer.

I will hold further comment until a game is played on this so-called ground.

Good luck for the year old timer, just hope you can keep the traps shut on the mouths you play with down there.

Everything ok Tiger, you seem to have an unhealthy build up of aggression towards the thread, maybe you should open up and talk to someone

Thank god the footy is going to start this week and we can start talking some footy on here:

This week:
WB by plenty against Monash (10 goals)
PHouse easliy over the Wicks (6 goals)
Swin to account for the Hawks (6 goals)
Kew to show of their newly merged outfit with a convincing 7 goal win over Latrobe
Ivanhoe in a tight one against OW (2 goals)

Season:
Winner: Kew Runner up: WB
Wooden Spoon: Hawks D4: Monash

How are the grounds looking?????

Are west brunswick able to use their ground yet or are they still up at the hockey fields?

Will have access to Ransford oval (next to McAllister where we played a few games last year) from this week. It'll be great to get back onto a playing surface that's the right shape and re-acquaint myself with the four tall sticks.

Well that can't be a good sign, wonder if they think it was the rain's fault or just learning to play together, or a bit rusty, or just no good???

There'll probably be rain this saturday. May be an irony after the extended pre-season but the wet weather style of footy might mean that the skills practised during pre-season aren't necessarily suited to the conditions.

Old Warrior not oldtimer champ, two different people.

You still haven't answered why it is pathetic we are playing at Warringa. Nor have you told us the other poor decisions the club has made recently.

Please keep your comments about the running of our club to yourself until you know what it is you're talking about.

Traps won't be shut on any of our players. We're confident about the year ahead, why should we keep that to ourselves?

BTW good to see you spell checked your last post.

Who are they playing, the "BIG FELLA" might come and have a look.;)

c'mon crazy, the muzzle must surely be applied to all & sundry...

Rd 1 tips
Old Westbourne at home by plenty over an undrprepared Ivanhoe
Powerhouse on the rise by 40 over the U12's
Hawks also on the rise by 12 over the Swine
West Brunswick by more than Old Westbourne over a struggling Monash
Kew after merger by 35 over Latrobe

What so if I give you my opinion I automatically get accused of being bais....My predictions are just how I see it....I'm sorry if your so narrow minded...not Kew

Fair nuff. I'll retract my accusation.

Care to inform us then as to why you've tipped Kew. Despite the merger they seem to be thought of as a roughy for the finals. Haven't heard too many give them the tip for the flag. They've as much chance as any and better then most and good luck to them but it'd be a big lift from last season.

With all the spruiking OW have been doing surely you'd have to be a crazy person to look past them for the flag wouldn't you??:D

100s on the track. Two grounds to train. A coach doing his homework on all the other club, rumour has it he has been to one particular club 7 times to watch them train. A ban on posting on big footy as they are so confident but they don't want to end up sounding like OW.

Whats not to like....

Gee, 7 times at one club, aren't they training in Kew? That is confidence....big expectations now

Have plenty on track, however, no where near as many as we had in early March. Merge hasn't gone as smooth as we first thought. At the present time have only signed 11 from North Kew with many going to South Yarra in SFL or retired. Will be improved from last year, however at the present time still a fair way behind last years sides who finished 3 - 5. Remember those sides finished 6 games ahead of the rest last year.
No chance of going to watch a side train 7 times, let alone once.
Have seen all teams PLAY at least once. Will be a very even comp from what I have seen.

Oldtimer - what are your selections and points spread for round one?

How do you go with 100's on the track?

Do they have u19s and clubbies as well? I hope so or there'd be trouble on selection nights.
