What news rules? Ruck Men must start on there own side?

Here is the new rule:
(a) The centre bounce or throw up shall be contested by one nominated player from each team. Such player shall be nominated to the field umpire prior to the bounce down or throw of the football. The player contesting the centre bounce shall be positioned in his or her teams’ defensive half of the playing surface and with both feet within the 10 metre circle. The player may only enter the attacking teams half after the ball touches the ground or leaves the field umpire’s hand, in the act of being thrown up. The player shall not be permitted to block an opponent’s approach to the contest. The players must have both feet inside the 10 metre circle at all times until they contest the bounce or the field umpire calls “play on” due to an “offline bounce”. No other player may enter the 10 metre circle until the football touches the ground in the act of bouncing or is thrown up by the field umpire.

One fact is that forward can elect to take the soft option or have a rest for a few minutes and go unnoticed - turn it on occasionally and kick a few had a great day. Backman does this and guarantee will get goals kicked on them & look like a dud.

There is no toughest position (although midfielders have to do the kms fair enough) what makes it tough is how hard u go, how much your willing to cop the contact to get the ball, help your teammate, stop the opposition.

So you could still block the opposition ruckman, but it would be more obvious as you'd have to take your eyes off the ball to see where the other is coming from.

I like it. Our ruckman will enjoy it, he was complaining to the umps all year about blocking tactics.

I agree... though ruckman are probably rotated more than any other position, so they can get a fair rest.

I had a couple of games where i played ruck the whole time, no rotations for me. haha

I had a couple of games where i played ruck the whole time, no rotations for me. haha

I was lucky enough to be rotated to Full Back when I needed a rest.

Kew will be there abouts.

West Brunswick were only relegated on %, so they'll be a real danger.

SFX are an unknown quantity, did make finals in Club 18 (I).

I believe Albert Park will be no better or worse with a new coach.

You dont think a new coach, who you would think will not be appointed without bringing players will make a difference, when no one is leaving, and where is the improvment to BHN coming from to go from missing finals to finishing 2nd?

And please dont say your ruck work or that you only had 22 goals kicked on you this year, we have heard that already!

Thanks guys for giving Bulleen a chance. Off field our future is becoming brighter. A new senior coach will be announced in the coming days, so hold onto your hats for that... If we can make the finals bloody fantastic, as long as we do not finish on the bottom.

BHN will improve next year because the younger guys have played around 50 games and are really starting to improve and gel as a unit. Also My Ruck Work .

Point taken about the new coach he should bring down 2 more guns which may be enough to push the top 4. I made the assumption you would loose several players through retirement (Venables, McIndoe).

they won 6 games last yr only got droped by %, the best 3 sides and prob the only class sides have gone i cant see anyone getting near them, uni only lost 1 game all yr eltham didn't lose to anyone outside the top 3 and st marys only lost 1 game to a side out side the top 3, who is going to beat them?

Hi Guys this is the Pro new to the thread but have been reading for quite a while. Having watched a lot of d1-d4 games over the last 2 years you will find that the gap between West Brunswick and Kew isn't that large. A couple of goals was the difference both times. Both teams have superstars in Irving from West Brunswick and Horne from Kew.

The Pro will submit a LADDER later on in the pre season.

The Pro also likes Zipping in the Cox Plate.

The Pro also likes speaking in the third person.

I would only suggest that all grades are not yet finalised. Last weeks deal will have helped with plans though.
