I’m not in charge of Collingwood trade and list management though it would be an entertaining job if I was ever offered.

I would need very strong reassurance from my draft watchers that next year’s draft talent is very significantly worse than this year’s before I made that move. I know that’s the narrative going around but the above trade is potentially giving Noble for free which feels stupid considering he’s a decent enough player, contracted, great for competitiveness and fits your coach’s preferred game plan.

I’d try to angle for F1, Noble, 52, 55 <> 13, 23, F3. Someone with a calculator would have to check me on points but in principle I’d try to make it work for both parties in terms of academies and f/s points (McGuane)
Your F1 would be about 23 come draft night next year probably. So you rate Noble as pick 13 in a good draft?

LOL

So you have a crystal ball on our finishing ladder position next year? That’s nice. And on top of that you’re anticipating all the f/s and academy’s bids in a draft 12m out? Nice work, I’ll hit you up for my shares portfolio.

Yep probably 6 or so academy prospects, plus free agency compo. How is a B grader you’ve dropped worth pick 13 in a super draft. Surely most Pies fans aren’t that bias?

Again though it is Gold Coast so who knows.

I agree with all of this. GCS and Rioli has completely stuffed this trade from occurring by simply not valuing their picks as always. Totally throws fair price out the window for other teams.

I think it gets done if someone gives us a pick for Kennedy and that gets chucked in too

Seems no takers for Kennedy.

You’re either too daft to understand what I’m saying or doing it on purpose to paint the picture you want of the Pies fans position.

Future pick is a guess on ladder position. In a game of probabilities you can’t just assume you’re going to be top 4. Draft strength is also a general qualitative guess, nothing purely objective about it.

You also have zero idea which free agent is going to get traded or re-sign so yet another guess.

Sure Noble got dropped for the GF in 23 but he played most of the year for a minor premier and regained his position this year so you can drop the false narrative.

In my trade scenario I don’t know where you got that I’m isolating Noble to be worth 13? It’s about all the other collateral and what suits who at this point in time. If you want to see it written black on white: John Noble is not worth pick 13 on his own in a strong draft.

You can criticise GC all you want but to me they have learnt from past mistakes. When you compare the Rioli/Noble negotiation to the Weller and Bowes ones it feels like they’re holding a stronger position and using their leverage better.

Houston to Blues

Jack Luko rumoured to be on $1m??

You can see why they’ve never finished higher than 12th. Elite talent that’s given superstar level money after rookie deal expires and the players don’t care anymore.

Mac Andrew will be a serious watch with the contract he just got given
Luko contract is back ended. Average salary over 4 years was rumoured to be 700-750K. It's actually pretty smart to pay him less early and then ship him out when he is not in Dimma's future plans.

BTW, if you believe speculations, Port could be paying him 900K over 6 years.

Personally, I believe after recent drafts Suns got too many talls. It will be Walter, Read as academy kids plus King and Andrew.

All teams will have 5-6 1M+ players with TPP increase. Andrew had some crazy offers. Sure, it's a risk, still mostly potential. But bloody exciting potential.

Not sure where you got the idea that Suns players don't care. Plenty of teams did not make finals. It does not mean they don't care.

Oh absolutely I believe Suns players get contracts and put their feet up. I realise it happens at all clubs but no more so than at GC.

Melb Give/NM Get:
5 & 9

Nm Give/Melb Get:
2 & ?? (What would work here?)

Nm Give/GC Get:
Future First

GC Give/NM Get:
13

North would have 5,9 & 13 and could offer 9 or even 5 for Houston?

I think it would need to be more than just 13 to get our F1 which is most likely going to be anywhere between 1 - 4.

Feels like whoever gets to will be for a decentish first rounder + steak knives, late near deadline. Personally hope its not us and we hit the draft but we could do much worse.

Will be at least a mid 1st, a mid 2nd and steak knives imo.
Both Carlton and Collingwood need to offer their best pick plus a 2nd to get close to the deal.
