THE Western Bulldogs have suffered an injury blow, with Daniel Giansiracusa facing six weeks on the sidelines.

Arthrosopic surgery yesterday revealed Giansiracusa suffered cartilage damage in the win against North Melbourne.
A tear was repaired and a piece of floating cartilate removed, ensuring a far longer absence than expected.
Giansiracusa, arguably in the best form of his career, left the ground in the first term on Sunday after the knee joint locked.
After receiving treatment in a lengthy visit to the rooms and going through a series of run-throughs on the boundary to test the knee, Giansiracusa returned to play a key role in the shaking off the Kangaroos.
The 27-year-old kicked two goals in the final term and set up another in a stunning finish to a day that seemed over before quarter-time.
Speaking after the game, Giansiracusa told the Herald Sun: "It will be pretty sore tomorrow".
Giansiracusa would prove to be spot on and scans confirmed he could no longer carry the problem, which has dogged him at times this year.
He narrowly avoided a reconstruction on the same knee in the lead-up to last season, when he tweaked his anterior cruciate ligament.
Although it does not appear the latest setback is related, floating cartilage has caused problems.
"The knee sort of locked and wouldn't go back to normal. It's happened a couple of times during the year," Giansiracusa said after the 22-point win against the Roos.
"The docs worked some magic underneath (the stands) and it was good I could contribute in the end."
After a slow start, Giansiracusa's season had gained considerable momentum.
His ability to find space and finish cleanly on the forward line has been a key factor in the Dogs' good mid-season form.
Now, it appears certain he will have to return three to four weeks before the finals and regain touch and match fitness.
