Didn't look too bad in his breakout games when shiel and merrett were both injured /recently back. Had to stand up and did.

Then he kinda went meh again.

Worth a lot more to us than we would get via a trade/FA. His signing should be our main priority which I’d imagine it is. Wouldn’t blame him though if he wanted out

Money will be there.
Reckon we just need to show the club is moving in the right direction under Scott.

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t re-sign with the bombers. Would only really make sense to be picked up by a contender that is looking to round out its midfield with a solid third string mid.

While not a contender might also make sense at Freo given their midfield has lost a bit of experience over the past few years.

I think Freo are similar to ess in that they need big bodied mids. Brayshaw and Serong are very good but small - as is JOM and Aish. Mundy and Fyfe were the big bodied mids for years. O'Driscoll looks decent early but only 12 games in.

Setterfield has been a blessing in disguise. For a whatever it was late rounder, he is helping unlock the real potential of our midfield now.

Parish had most pressure acts of any Essendon player on the weekend, a buy in mindset shift has helped him as well imho

The question was always going to be what Scott does to figure out two issues

Shiel and Parish in the same midfield
Getting Parish to do defensive things as well as get ball and attack.

So far so good. If this keeps up he's a no brainer signing.
Merrett, parish, shiel, Setterfield, hobbs, caldwell, martin, tsatas is some good midfield depth

Draft is a lottery must keep him

And with Dodoro in charge I don't trust him picking an absolute gun with the pick
Nah. Easily covered. Should have traded him last year.

Anything less than a top 5 pick comp then i imagine we match for a trade.

But i can see us also re-signing on goofld coin given the midfield depth ain't great, he's having a good season (contract year again though), and we need to use the cap

What would he been on at Ess? 900? If thats the offer..and you match...then he may stay.

wouldn't be on that. not even close. would be on 600 I imagine

Just wondering.... as if a club matches then they best be ready to pay it if the trading club walks.... Not all clubs are like Geelong.I think StK threaten to walk if the Crows matched their offer for Crouch for example.

if its 50% more than he is on... then id say its possible for him to stay ... depending on how he feels about being at Ess.

only way parish goes is if he asks for a trade or if we get utterly stupid overs.

the kids an absolute jet and Essendon are barley meeting the minimum cap spend at the moment. $$$ won't be an issue.

the kid is an absolute jet. If he keeps it up he will be an AA lock again.

he won't get what merrets on be he could get 750k pretty easily.

he is a gun contested/clearance player but his disposal lets him down at times.
