Re: Jolly a Pie

Yeehaw. Nice going Pies, now get out there and grab Ball!

Either way at least now we have gotten something out of trade week, even if we miss Ball and Fev that makes me feel a hell of a lot better.

COLLINGWOOD has secured Darren Jolly from Sydney in exchange for picks 14 and 46

Sydney coach Paul Roos was exasperated last night before the deal was sealed.
"What is on offer is just not good enough, and we won't be budging at this point,'' he said, before the Pies sweetened the deal with pick 46.

Re: Jolly a Pie

all this jostling all for the inclusion of a very late 3rd pick to be added to 14? This deal prob should/could have been done a while ago?!

Re: Jolly a Pie

Darren Jolly & Cameron Wood rotating in the ruck, I like! Josh Fraser hmmm..... ? were to with him, trade bait or a possible leading forward/crumber?

Re: Jolly a Pie

That's awesome. Really happy with that and he was definitely the one we needed first IMO.

I note that Peake has just been picked up by the Saints from Freo. Meaning another midefielder for them. Ball looking good also I reckon!

2 out of 3 aint bad I reckon!

Fev to Bris - could be gamesmanship me thinks. I reckon Sydney now... they have picks to trade!

Re: Jolly a Pie

Great to finally have a top quality ruckman...If stalling has made the pick 46 as the topping these guys are geniuses..Time to nab ourselves a inside midfielder lock it in Eddy.

Re: Jolly a Pie

Meders straight swap for Ball possibly? they want a lead up small forward. I would do the trade. Means Dids can go back into the forward line.

Re: Jolly a Pie

This is f***ing fantastic!!!!

My favourite bit was how Paul Roos was exasperated saying that it wasn't good enough but then he accepted a late 3rd round pick in a shallow draft. Saving face eh?

Seriously... we will get a good 4 to 5 years of quality rucking out of this deal. We have a great 2nd ruckman in Wood coming through who will take over the number one mantle after Jolly retires. If we can now secure Ball we will be a serious threat next season.

couldn't agree more. it took pick 46 in a supposedly weak draft to seal the deal???

something must have occurred to change syd's mind because they were supposedly standing firm to get more for jolly and i doubt the mouth watering pick 46 would have cut the mustard. perhaps a late play for fevola is not out of the question and they needed pick 14 asap?
