AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Big fan, but always doubted whether we'd be able to lure him over here. I'd imagine he'd prefer to stay in Melbourne and given that he is starting to establish himself in the Demons 22, why would he or the dees entertain the idea of a trade. Just can't see it happening.1) WC dont have the depth to lose 4 players in and round their best 22.
2) Smith and Stevens probably worth picks 25-35 but WC would want considerably better to trade Brown
3) Dees have mooted they will be active in the trade period but one name brought up surprised me - Sam Blease. He is exactly what WC need - probably a better fit than every other name mentioned in these threads.
Doubt Lynch would leave, doubt we'd consider trading him.
All the other trades I'd do.
Brown for StKilda's first rounder would be a dream (if we picked up a replacement KPD - ie. Hooker, Pears, Chaplin)
That's about as close to reality as it would get, do you really think that St Kilda is that gullible?
Wellingham re-signed with the Pies ages ago. This off the main Drafts and Trading Board
West Coast
Lynch to Bris/Coll/GWS/GCS/Melb/Port/Adel (several teams looking for another power forward)
Brown to STK
Stevens to Coll/Carl/StK/Ess/Melb
Smith to Rich
Wellingham to WCE/ Freo (home sickness) - more likely to be pushed out - prefer Fasolo
thinking we would gain some good draft picks for Brown, Smith, Stevens - certainly under 30
That's called holding your shape, spread is the ability to explode from congestion.
Other than Shuey the cupboard is bare.
They did trade for Peake...
Sure about this? tried searching it, an article posted on the 26th of July said he comitted, but an article on the 3rd of August said he is yet to sign, don't remember if they were the same site, but do you have any proof that he has signed?Wellingham re-signed with the Pies ages ago.
If you are chasing explosive pace then what about Rodan from Port? Free agent, probably wouldn't cost huge $$$ and he would add to our midfield depth. Naitanui and Rodan combining would be serious clearance power.
Harsh call but in 2013 subject to fitness tests I'd rather have Rodan on the list than Neates. If we really rate Neates we could re-rookie him.
i wouldn`t mind giving Gilligan or Motlop from swans a late spot on the list ,both boys seem to be a smart mids/wingers with pace and good skills
to you maybe but both boys have shown talent to be drafted at a young age ,so the talent is there and now they are older and wiser and ready to have another go at it ..
ok no Gilligan but apparently Motlop has really put his head down and is focusiing on playing his best footy at swans now he has moved to wa I understand in sa he played sanfl and even went down to the 2`s for 5 games .
Swannies seems to have some Swiftesque opinions on some of his beloved Swannies though!
You're right - my bad. Could have sworn he signed but re-reading them the articles never actually stated that explicitly. Looks like he 'committed' a while back but the latest article I can find mentions that a 3 year deal is on the table but he is baulking at the price. Interesting.Sure about this? tried searching it, an article posted on the 26th of July said he comitted, but an article on the 3rd of August said he is yet to sign, don't remember if they were the same site, but do you have any proof that he has signed?

I'd be open to that.If you are chasing explosive pace then what about Rodan from Port? Free agent, probably wouldn't cost huge $$$ and he would add to our midfield depth. Naitanui and Rodan combining would be serious clearance power.

I'd be open to that.
Would prefer Sylvia than Rodan, need a player that can play at HF as well as occasionally mid, and think Sylvia would do that better. It would let Masten be part of the standard mid rotation which would make us a better side imo.same, although he did do his knees he has recovered not too badly. at west coast i reckon he'd thrive as a hff/midfielder.
Sylvia would be a good get but how much would it $$$ to get him?Would prefer Sylvia than Rodan, need a player that can play at HF as well as occasionally mid, and think Sylvia would do that better. It would let Masten be part of the standard mid rotation which would make us a better side imo.
So would I - although there were a lot of people on the Port board calling for him to be dropped this week.I'd be open to that.
he was meant to resign when he came back from suspension but apparently he didnt due to the cloke saga.
Can't imagine he would be hugely expensive, plus he seems to be on the outer a little at Melbourne. Rumours around that he doesn't get along with Neeld etc.Sylvia would be a good get but how much would it $$$ to get him?
