6 -> 11 (And directly strengthening the draft position of one of our foremost rivals, 2 years running)
28 -> 31
44 -> 49 (Before compo's announced)

And all for a player who's

a) out of contract
b) nominated the Eagles as his only desired destination
c) West-Australian
d) A modest utility prospect at best
e) pick 30 from 2 years ago
f) Could've been forced into the PSD
g) Not certain best 22 immediately
h) Doesn't fulfil our most pressing needs (Inside mid)

We obviously think that the 2 players we're after will be available at 11 and 31. Chill out, we just nabbed a couple of very promising players in the trade period for very little. Hypothetically, if we get those 2 players in the draft, Yeo is more or less a free signing.

Why not pick 28 and pick 31 for Yeo and pick 29, if not pick 31 for Yeo.

That's not the point. There is zero reason we should be giving 28 over 31.

What if Yeo becomes a 200 gamer.
What if the player we take at 31 becomes a dud
what if the player that goes at 28 become a star

I was ok with the deal with the pies, but this just becoming draft pick charity.

That's kind of what needs to happen before the deal becomes fair though...

Id say 150+ games for Yeo and a B+ grade inside mid and we win. However if pick #6 becomes the second coming of Ablett we loose regardless...

It's obvious that the West Coast recruiters have a plan regarding 6 & 11, but in both occasions where a fair deal could've been found for both parties, Collingwood and Brisbane appear to have come away with a win (albeit somewhat minor in Brisbane's case).

It just doesn't look good right this second. But yes I agree, we can't really make an informed judgement until a lot of water has passed under the bridge.
