I don't know who started it, but E87 certainly perpetuated it. He's so certain of the superior quality of the top 5, he cllaimed any of the top 5 players sliding as far as 6 was as likely as the sun failing to rise tomorrow. He didn't list his top 5 though.

You are so full of shit. As always.

If all the kids are sent into the PSD it will be monumentally disastrous for them.

If it did happen expect next year to be a compromised draft again.

They would have a pretty good case for compensation picks even though i suspect the AFL would have a few demands in regards to the board and how the club has been governed.

It's a shame really, it's like the ghost of Fitzroy has come home to roost.

They would have no case for compo as they decided to play hard ball and not accept any offers (if eventuated)

Ok I might have been trolling a bit, but I maintain there are times when I'm not full of shit. Brief though they may be.

So pies get the equivalent of 3 top 10 picks this year, and a saving of half a million plus, at the cost of a 28 year old they didn't want, a player who's missed most of the last two years through injury and an eliminaton final loss last year.

When are we going to get an off season like that?

It looks like Leigh Mathews will take his place on the BL Board: This will be significant regarding the trades still to be done, playing hardball is about to happen. Maybe some of those wanting to leave will now do a backflip and stay??//:rolleyes:

They have done remarkably well.

Why?

The ones that want to go haven't played under him have they?

Why all this hate for Bootsma? people keep winging that we are too small. He is a good height, really quick and only 20 and really skinny. Could be a gun in a few years. Can someone tell me who is better at pick 31. Bootsma could be way better than some of the duds we have.

We could get a big bodied mid in Cripps, Janson or Nick Robertson that we desperately need. Bootsma is not what we really need unless we trade out Smith, Brennan or Butler for him.

Bootsma is several years away from having a mans body and that's if he can actually get one.

We need midfielders.

While I wouldn't necessarily want Bootsma on the list - the deal is rumoured to be for Ash Smith, not pick 31. At least that is what we are offering.

That changes things. I'd say given he is contracted the deal won't go ahead unless we relinquish our second rounder, which my heart is saying we won't.

in the next 3 drafts we already have 2 mids Waterman, Matera, plus a really good mid this year if that is who we choose so do we really need to get a mid that may or may not make it at 31? To be honest I would rather Charlie Cameron or Dwane Wilson at 31 But some of the things said about young Boots are pretty appalling.

Would trade Smith but not pick.

So lets grab Bootsma in two years when he leaves Carlton and we get him for free.:thumbsu:

Waterman looks the goods but Matera we have no idea. We need them NOW not in the next 2 years.

Matera is a complete unknown as well.

Well losing Thomas is like us losing Le Cras
And losing Shaw is probably the equivalent of Hurn.

So yeah we'd probably get a good deal for those guys.
