Why do you want Salem? He's very good, but he's not someone you will build your side around. Very much that 5-7th midfielder who is really comfortable as a forward.
i was watching the nab afl draft countdown videos and he looks solid. he said he models his game on luke hodge and he can play multiple positions. i also think its possible we could get him at 11. obviously kelly or aish won't be available at 11.

6 pick upgrade in a shallow draft is much better than a pick around 40 in a deep draft...
This is madness! Worst part of our whole trade period IMO. If we are using 4 picks next year, this means we are giving up a maybe 10-15 pick upgrade next year to get a 6 pick upgrade this year. If we are using 5 picks, it would be a 30 pick upgrade.

There may be a second list lodgement. There usually is, but I can't find any info.
Edit: There is, it's November 14 at 2pm. Looks like we might have to wait another two weeks to find out Newman's fate

That makes a more sense. If we don't use 49 it will be very strange.
Really hope we keep Newman by the way, don't mind if it's main list or re-rookie.

Don't mind that and i'm surprised GC did that trade considering they using five picks in the national draft at this stage. Even if Collingwood finish as low as 11th (behind Essendon) in 2014, then the compo pick would only end up being pick 44 before other compo picks push it down the order. (assuming they still exist).
Only compensation for the Gold Coast is that the draft might well be deeper by the looks of things.
Jeez St Kilda, left it kinda late. Mind you this is the club that sacked Blight after what, two rounds?

Yessir, just trying to keep things ticking along - 20 days to go.
He should have gone to the club rather than walking out of his wafl match and not contacting the eagles til the following monday
The trade of our compensation pick was just to lube up the Gold Coast a bit so it doesn't hurt as much when we penetrate their ranks and extract Swallow/Bennell/Matera next year.
