this could be a good thing with their wanting of players with speed for their first pick after the loss of Varcoe and ChristensenCats have signed Blease as a delisted free agent
Cats have signed Blease as a delisted free agent
There's been very little mention of us looking at Lucas though. I'm not against it if we do but I'm not sure the club is interested and we may just use that pick in the draftSo Cats got Blease, Tigers got Hunt....
Eagles get poor mans Kade Simpson?
/Tom Swift poll threadI. First time i've seen a poll on BF actually be neck and neck.
certainly early in the footage yep. but could be fitness based due to injuries over last 2 yrsCockatoo's kicking didn't look overly convincing from the footage IMO.
but hes predicted us to take cockatoo more than onceDecent summary in the article on AFL.com today

Twomey looks like he is starting to get better drafting insights (or better editorial input and support at least)
Part of the difficulty in ranking this year's first round of prospects comes due to the hard-to-assess form of the taller players.
While injuries stopped McCartin from a commanding season, the strong-marking and burly key forward was still dominant in the games he played. But Peter Wright, Sam Durdin and Hugh Goddard showed indifferent form at stages, while Jake Lever missed all of the season with a knee reconstruction.
Caleb Marchbank has also played minimal footy over the past two seasons due to back and knee injuries, meaning clubs will need to judge their performance against that of the midfielders who, on the whole, put together more consistent seasons.
So the precious talls this year are temperamental!
He is not seeing the value in Cockatoo that our poll is indicating -
Of the midfielders, Jayden Laverde, Liam Duggan, Paul Ahern, Jarrod Pickett and Jordan De Goey are all in contention as top-10 selections, while Corey Ellis and Lachie Weller won't be far off.
Last year Twomey managed to predict the first 14 in perfect order. Not a chance this year. I think he will end up with max first 5.
I can't believe I'm saying this but if we went the Blakely route at 11 I wouldn't be that disappointed (he'd be my third or fourth choice but still).
I actually think he's a pretty exciting stoppage mid. Has great breakaway pace, strong agility and clean hands. Seems to be a strong reader of taps aswell. His kicking is the major concern for me though, doesn't look like a natural kick.
I see a lot of dustin martin in him. .
Mitch Robinson heads to Brisbane, fair old midfield they are building there
The ****'s home is in NT so no go home factor there, unless its for non AFL reasons.Im with you.im warming to blakely more and more all the time.I have no problem with his kicking at all, reads taps well, will possibly grow a bit taller and fill out to be a nice sized frame.Wouldnt be my 1st choice, pickett is,but would take him over cockatoo and others,no go home factor, reckon he will be a very good player for whoever picks him.
And then they ruined it by getting Mitch Robinson.
Will be a smaller fish in a bigger pond. With the likes of Rockliff, D.Beams, Hanley, Christensen, Aish, Rich, Zorko, Redden, Taylor, Mayes
ahead of him he will get a lot less attention and can likely do some damage as well.
Think the only thing he adds is a bit of toughnessWell he is fairly shit as a player so not sure he will do anything at all.

I realise his home is the nt,but there is a settling in period regardless, theres not with blakely, even though hes a Bunbury boy,hes been living In perth all year I believe and of course his brother is at the black ducks too.Anyway id selct him over the ****
yes, he's only a couple of centimetres shorter than Cockatoo ....Blakely has the height etc that West Coast need in the midfield whether he is a first round pick is debatable but would be handy in our midfield .
Would rather take the risk on a player with a higher ceiling like Cockatoo now that we have Waterman locked in to be honest. I just don't know if Blakely's ceiling is high enough to warrant our first pick. I felt even by picking Sheed last year we played it safe. Time to make or break with the list we have.
I reckon blakely has a lot of improvement in him,i think you will get more consistency from him long over a long period of time.I feel that cockatoo will be a guy that will be a bit inconsistent from week to week.1 of these guys whos best is very very good, but his bad games he will barely touch it.Blakely I think will be the type of guy that you know what your gonna get from him,and there wont be a big difference from his good and bad games.Just my opinion
