I too would be sad for O'Shizzy. But, you know what? I reckon he's willing to do this to himself because he loves the club. He's willing to pack up and a leave so he can help out Port. Now that's a club man.

He would be welcome back to Alberton at any time.

That makes no sense

So right now the current offer remains at 17, with ongoing negotiations between a number of parties. Realistically, if anyone thinks this deal is suddenly going to go from 17, to 17, 35 and a player, they're kidding themselves.

I'm expecting us to part with 17 and our third round draft pick. Anything more, I'll be very surprised.

That makes no sense
It makes perfect sense. Hartlett said it last year when someone asked him over Twitter if he wanted to be traded to GWS. He said it would if it helped Port.

Let's get one thing straight, under no circumstance are we trading O'Shea ... Don't care if it is for a second or first rounder. It is just not happening (I hope).

*unpopular opinion*

If O'Shea has expressed the feeling that he wouldn't mind if he were to leave I would be completely happy trading him. Obviously we would only get rid of him if we were offered his true price, which would seem overs to those outside the club. He probably wouldn't start round 1 or be borderline selection and we are absolutely stacked in the running defender department so I would be happy with it.

Hands up who thinks that posts starting with 'but but but' have been overdone and are just getting annoying?

I pretty much check this thread every half hour or so for actual news, so basically every non news post I find annoying.

Essendon don't want people to think they will be push overs regarding the ASADA stuff - would not surprise me if they use the Ryder trade to go the way of the tribunal to make a point regardless of the outcome - that's the way they have been rolling for a while now... as long as he wants to go to Port and it stays like that we have to be patient. In saying that, I reckon they will use pick 17 for something else if we don't need it for Ryder - so they must have plans in place to tell Essendon take it or leave it by a certain time so they can use it for other trades.
