Does anyone actually know if Venables is going to be a fulltime mid? or more of a toby greene type
Full time mid like Shuey once he gets experienced.

I expect only short stints in the midfield next year though.

i cant believe you all think im kidding

its just my honest opinion , i feel youre not going to do well in these coming years

brendons not a star in the making , hes not that good actually

i would suggest not getting your hopes up for success anytime soon

the eagles wont win a flag in the next 3 decades

Is there any truth in the rumour that you were suspended for your exceedingly poor grammar and spelling?

You're gonna be so embarrassed when Duggan becomes the first player to win the brownlow and Ninja Warrior in the same year
Duggan is "Koby Stevens" MKII. Venebles is Shuey MK 0.5. We seem to have this mentality of recruiting similar types all the time. This new Sudanese guy is a Lesser version of Naitanui wtf is it with our recruiting staff ? don't they have any ability other than plagiarism ?

I can't tell if you are being serious orrr..

Unless the players are actually willing to die for each other and focus solely on nothing else other than their job then it won’t matter what strategy is in place.
Many great suggestions in here but the players have shown they are so ft and have little character as a collective group, if that is not changed then unfortunately it will just be more of the same.
Close enough is good enough.

Duggan is nothing like Stevens...Not an inside mid, far better kicking mechanics and a smooth mover.
Venebles does have similarities to Shuey but I don't see why that would be a problem...Shuey is a gun and has playing style we could do with a few more players having. Inside out, yes please.

Olango - If we got anything like Naita from a rookie pick, we'd be laughing.
I think our drafting says more about where we think the game is headed and the style of players that'd suit.

Okay now there cannot be any doubt this is a troll account haha, I must admit I chuckled

At the training session on Wednesday, I was reminded of the calibre of Venables skills. He is right up there as one of our most skillful player and getting that class into our best 22 has to be a priority. His foot skills (even at pace) mean that we need to make room for him.

He was running pretty damn well in the sessions and looked like he belonged in the group which is a good sign.

Other pointer was that Frankie Watson was looking really smooth in the drills. He is someone that we can look to build into our game strategy and have that missing pace out of defence. I think the key to Frankie being in the team will be getting his decision making right when running out of defence.

Venables in the midfield rotation?

I love the optimism about Venables, but aren't we all getting way ahead of ourselves? Medical teams from all clubs have typically had a lot of trouble getting players right and on the park from foot injuries. I love all the hype, but i wont hold my breath until i see this kid actually out on the field and in our best 22.

Looks like the 90's era view of the forward line as a training ground for young mids has finally been given the arse. And not before time. High skilled specialist small forwards zipping around Kennedy and Darling's legs will change us up quite a bit I reckon. For a start rebounding defenders will need to be very careful getting ahead of themselves.

I would have him as a HFF to start off with and then try some rotations. Lets face it, the congestion of play nowadays makes less of a difference especially when you have the likes of Ryan and/or Rioli playing more the forward pocket/crumbing role.

It shouldn't be a training ground for mids but the smaller forwards should be able to rotate through the midfield or we are making ourselves too predictable and one dimensional

Just get him in the side i say, anywhere

We may well look like idiots this year when SPP plateaus and venables wins the rising star
