I honestly don't think that the PSD threat has any chance of eventuating.

Besides, it's probably not the best time to piss the AFL head honchos off again. They just stopped going in dry on us and have actually favored us a bit lately (Tops up as delisted free agents). We all know how it will play out. Think Buddy->SYD, COLA removal.

EDIT: If we get him, it won't be through the PSD, it will be through a trade, one where I hope we give them as little as possible - just the Hibberd pick.

That the AFL will allow the top ups to become de-listed free agents has nothing to do with Essendon. It's pressure from the AFLPA who, for once, have rightly pointed out that requiring these players to enter the draft is just going to make it harder for them to continue careers.

As for the COLA comparison, I would not be too worried as long as we can make a fair case. It's ultimately a matter for GC whether it will refuse to trade a player. It's surreal to think that they have already threatened to make him enter the draft. They can, again, deal with their own incompetence.

Don't really want him. Once a person sits out of footy for two years will always have issues. At only 22 years of age hes knees could be stuffed. You give him a 5 year deal at 700 plus, does his knee again in his first season there's 700k gone. No way should we take the risk. If these injuries didn't keep him out for two years, id throw everything at him in a heart beat. I genuinely see us in the window in the next 2-3 years risking such big money on somebody who can potentially have one more injury of his knee and be finished for life. We can offer it to a key forward or a gun mid.

Brett Anderson's top three suitors for O'Meara are the Saints, North and the Blues & Hawks very close together @SENAfternoons

Seems we might not even be in the picture hence the PSD threat from GCS.

You'd have to think the Saints were a definite option, however that's highly dependant on Ameet actually learned anything from last years trade period.
There's no way he'd go to North as they're a mess at the moment and shut their window.
Carlton would have the cash surely, but again it would be a massive sell from Bolton to get them over the line.
And the best chance IMO is that the Hawks could offer him the cash and the opportunities. Man, I'd laugh if it backfires.

I'm not normally in favour of wishing injury on anyone but I may have to change that policy of he goes to hawforn

I'm more of a 'well wisher' in that I don't wish him any 'specific' harm.

'Windows' won't be very important. It'll come down to financial security. His manager would be negligent if he instructed O'Meata to settle for less to go to a club that can win a premiership.

So Hawthorn then? They don't have the trade power is the problem unless they can come up with something unseen before and Dodorolike.

That's a lot of darts thrown Brett.

Now you can claim you knew all along if he chooses 40% of the Vicco field you just "called"
