GC will be hoping O'Meara doesn't throw them under the bus. If Ess is selected, they will hope for:

In GC: #1. Out GC: O'Meara and #4 or 9

In Ess: O'Meara + #4 or #9 Out Ess: #1
Didn't they rule themselves out of wanting pick 1?

However, Gold Coast, which has two first-round picks — currently Picks 4 and 8 — has ruled out a deal with Essendon for the prospective first choice.

You poor bastard.. Why did they take it out? Yeah feller was my surgeon too, if he says there's nothing to be done, rest assured there isn't..

They took out the cartilage because that was crushed also. I basically had my leg turned away from my body at a 45 degree.

He was really good. Told me to keep doing as much gym etc until the medical technology advances further. He also said as good as the technology has been or is being reported, they are decades away from being able to replicate cartilage.

With great drafts coming up in the next two years we need to hang on to as many draft picks as possible, use our picks and build a premiership list.

We're in the wrong stage of a list build to be shelling out big cash and top picks for injury riddled players.
This. If we can get him for bugger all then great but he's not the sort I'd be throwing too much by way of draft picks at.

More than happy to screw Gold Coast every way imaginable.

Despite all of the threats made to us in the last few years we have at least acted as though we understood that our position was of our doing.

Gold Coast is a club which has mismanaged every aspect of its existence, despite AFL governance and oversight, right down to the management of the bodies of it most valuable players (David Swallow ended up using his family connection at North to get advice for the management of his injury because he had lost faith in the Gold Coast staff).

Gold Coast need to understand that this exodus of talent which is occurring is of its own doing and accept that two first round picks for a guy who has not played for two years, no matter how talented, is nonsense.

I also have absolutely no time for these AFL franchise clubs north of Victoria as they will get access to and endless supply of handouts (whether it is cash or concessions to enable them to draft talented players) at the expense of the clubs on which the AFL has been built.

Been a while since a top talent has gone to PSD. If he picks us then it's pick 19 and possibly a second rounder just like Port screwed us for Ryder. Think the Hawks may be the biggest chance, not sure yet whether JOM manager just using us for leverage with the PSD option.

Quick someone work out if it's Paul Connors and if I should be outraged

I honestly don't think that the PSD threat has any chance of eventuating.

Besides, it's probably not the best time to piss the AFL head honchos off again. They just stopped going in dry on us and have actually favored us a bit lately (Tops up as delisted free agents). We all know how it will play out. Think Buddy->SYD, COLA removal.

EDIT: If we get him, it won't be through the PSD, it will be through a trade, one where I hope we give them as little as possible - just the Hibberd pick.

As long as the PSD is an option, it is a chance.

To balance your AFL point, the AFL past and present regime have gone on the record several times stating that the competition would be healthier with Ess being back to "competitive" = $$$$$$$. Maybe they won't have an issue with Jaeger in the PSD...

Good for thought that's all. Not looking for a fight!
