This will be such a great experience for the youngsters and ideal preparation for the grand final, getting to play at the colosseum that is Blundstone Arena

Least it’s a big groundThis will be such a great experience for the youngsters and ideal preparation for the grand final, getting to play at the colosseum that is Blundstone Arena
So your happy if the reverse happened and say it was Toby Greene? I wouldn’tSounds like an extremely grey area. A number of players have played the following week so like a lot of grey rules I'm not sure how this can be applied. It is not reasonable to expect that medical staff can make a quickfire assessment on the field and conclude that a player is unable to play for 12 days. It is not often till the following Monday when initial scans, further physio etc are done that they get an idea. Even then its not conclusive some of the time.
If Mills is physically able he will play and Í'm sure there will be no suspicion in the AFL community that the Swans did the wrong thing.
Yep. We need to show some spread against their bigger bodiesThis will be on
I hope we play on a bigger ground not a smaller one that will become more contested ( yes I know it’s finals )as we will struggle
That's UTAS (York Park Launcestone)175m x 135m
Longer and Wider than MCG
That's UTAS (York Park Launcestone)
Blundstone is;
160m x 124m
By comparison SCG is 155m x 136m & MCG 161m x 138m
This is where I got the dimensions from;
Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium playing surface to shrink as boundaries brought in for player safety
Stadium slim down: Cats’ home ground to shrinkwww.foxsports.com.au
FWIW the official AFL Season guide lists Blundstone as 162m x 121m
Tbh apart from the optics of no crowd I’d rather it at kardinia parkIf I’m the swans I’m blowing up at the AFL. The two teams in gws and Sydney who have been on the road for over 2 months, get shafted to tassie. The least the AFL can do is say “thanks for not throwing the season into chaos and playing all these away games, you can have the choice of playing in qld” ..piss off footscray to Tasmania
Ralph on fox footyWhere has it been announced we are at Blundstone ? Lat I heard there are 3 game in Adelaide and the other either Brisbane or Tassie. If i have missed something ?

How long ago ? I seen him on there earlier and he did not say we were there for sure when they were discussing it. Having said that I usually tune out the minute I see his head such is the ****wit that he is.
It was said in the preview leading up to the Ess vs Coll game we are asking for Blundstone because it allows us to fly in/out without doing any covid quarantine.
Stiff shit. If fit enough to play, he plays.That’s my point. It sets a shocking precedent which we may think is great now if Mills gets ticked off to play but could bite us on the bum further down the track and totally goes against what the spirit of med sub was bought in for. I remember saying to a relative that finals is when this will be manipulated and low and behold here we are. The media imo will be all over this this week if Mills plays.
I think this is an interesting topic so not sure why it should derail the thread? Surely this is a place where these conversations can transpire but if you want to move on its cool. Here is a link to an article that should provide some clarity, please refer to the comment from Hocking. https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/afl-...new-substitute-rule-for-2021-season-c-2371607So your happy if the reverse happened and say it was Toby Greene? As for the scan he would have already had one. And yes it is possible to know if someone will miss atleast the next week, most scans are there to determine how much longer than missing a game will eventuate. If you’ve ruled him out of the rest of the game unless it’s in the middle of the last quarter you’ve pretty much ruled them out of next week. I know this because that’s what I do for our local club. It’s manipulating a rule. If you don’t agree fair enough. I’ll move on as it will derail this thread. Imo Mills should not play due to injury & not the rule and if he does will be a weak link in the side. Btw Mills is my favourite player it’s not a dig at him.

“When a doctor substitutes a player out of the game with an injury, other than concussion, the doctor at the time would be deeming the injury to be one of a nature that would see a player sidelined for a minimum of 12 days.”I think this is an interesting topic so not sure why it should derail the thread? I don't believe its manipulating a rule, it's not that black and white. But hey, this is a forum so we're all entitled to our opinions but when the GM of the AFL came out and said that you can play I'll take his word.
Go Swans!
